Are you for an ignore list feature on mylot?

To each his likings, but I am pretty sure that some of you find that some mylotters are irritating for various reasons. Many forums on the internet, specifically those using the Vbulletin software offer their members an ignore list feature. Basically, when you add a member to your ignore list, then you will not see any of the messages posted by this member. Also, this member will not be able to send you any private messages. There is already a friends list on Mylot, do you think that an ignore list would be useful as well?

Yes I'm definitely for an ignore feature on this site. The main reason I would want it is that there is a certain member who keeps trying to add me as a friend and I keep denying them, every time I deny them they keep trying to add me again and from looking at their profile they only seem to write about money making schemes and I'm pretty sure I'm going to get spammed in private message by them if I do accept them as a friend. Literally a day or so after I deny their request, up they pop again in the friends pending box GRRRR! LOL It's not really a big issue but an ignore feature would be quite handy as far as I'm concerned. x

I had members who only write about money making schemes adding me to their friends' list. Fortunately, nobody tried to add me again after I had denied him/her. I guess these people just pick up members randomly then send them friend requests. I used to accept these requests automatically, thinking that there would be no harm from adding them. Then, I got a lengthy private message full of referral links. since then, I have a look at the user' s profile before accepting the request.

Anonymili is right; I have one member that keep asking for my friendship once a week...probably the same oneā€¦.and he already has over 1000 friends...

Did you report that member to mylot admins? It is an unbearable situation I think.

Oh yes, I agree, it is a very good idea. There is a friend list, so why there isn't an ignore list, or better a "black list" !!

Yes, that is symmetry: a friends list and a black list, though the black list should remain black, it means that members should not be aware who added them to their black lists to avoid all sorts of problems and hurt feelings.

The only Mylotters that can send you a message are those on your friends list. If you remove that friend or that friend removes you, you can no longer send messages to each other within the MyLot site. I would have to disagree with the idea of an ignore list. If someone I don't like makes a nasty reply, I want to be able to see it so that I can report it.

That makes sense. I did not know that we cannot send a message to another member unless she/he is on our friends list. Thank you for bringing this up.

I am definately for an ignore list... but I think that some people would have a really long list.

Well at least it will help keeping some spammers away.

Luckily no one haven't spammed me with his money making schemes/programs/links but I've read a lot of complaints of other members who are been spammed. Also no one there has been really rude to me but again, I've seen discussions of others about it. So I guess, an ignore list could be there also.

It is nice to have the option. I don't think I would use it though but of course it would be nice to know if I ever needed to I could. Then, too, think of all the petty arguments it would cause if people knew they were being blocked by someone. If you think the arguments are bad now, it would really be bad b/c people would take it personally.....

I think just ignore it. Come to the value ones. Don't waste time on them.
