my first programming language was BASIC and I really hate that. To me it is easy to make simple programs but it gets very complicated when you try to do a bigger and more complex program. Then I studied FORTRAN and I hate that too. After that, I decided that programming is just not my cup of tea.

a bigger chunk of the population will never take kindly to programming. this is a career that only a few will pursue. just like all other careers, only a little of the population will go for it. the primary considerations which wiill make us pursue a career are the usual things like our talent for it, interest and the demand for professionals in the market. we may realize that the demand is high and so we get to be interested in it, now, talent is the final deciding factor. i believe that both of us lacked on this one.

First I studied FORTRAN 77 in 11th grade school, and C (Turbo C) language in 12th grade school. Later I studied BASIC (Q-Basic), C in deep and C++. Nowadays I use visual programming tools like Visual Basic, C#.net and PowerBuilder.

If anyone want to learn Programming I recommend C++ as starting language. It can be done using Microsoft Visual C++ 6 or classic application in VC++.net or Borland Turbo C++ or Borland C++ Builder. In Linux you can simply use text editor and compile with native compiler or some third party editors like Anjuta or Eclipse can be used.

My first programming is C using Boolean. I am having lots of difficulities to understand at first. I try every lab exercises given by my tutors. But nothing gave a clue on what i'm doing. I even cry sometimes if nothing works. Later, after several lectures came in and extra exercises done, I started to tie a knot to it... heh... . It's true what they say, practice makes perfect... For starters, I reccomended C

Yes C is the best for beginner :) In my opinion, one should learn programming in a simple environment at first, so they don't have to worry about too many libraries or too many functions and etc. We should focus on how to build a logical solution and implements those steps in programming language... I first program when i was in college, I'll never forget my first task of building a triangle star like this one: * * * * * * It took my a few hours to think about it and successfully program it, but that was when the love started to spring out :)

It's quite simple programming language at that time. I learned Lotus 123 and Basic. I wish I could learn Java and C++ because it's much more professional to fulfill what I want to do. I love China

The first programming language I learned were a bit of HTML (ok, not a programming language) and Javascript. But what I studied for real was C in Computer Science faculty. I don't like C, I prefer Java by the way

The first programming language i ever learnt was C. As in my college that was the first programming language they taught me. Its the basis for most other programming languages like C++, JAVA, C# and many more. Even i would personally advice all of you if your starting of with a programming language first do C. Otherwise if you directly jump to an advanced language you'll find it really difficult. Finally Enjoy learning and Programming and All the Best!!

The first programming language I learned was the built in Basic language in Synclair ZX Spectrum. I remember writing lines and lines of code from a book and then the machine crashed! Then I experimented further with Basic on Commodore 64 and then the PC. GW Basic was popular; in fact I was using an emulator on my Amiga 500 to run it. Ah those days :)

my first language was dbase3 the 4 the foxpro the clipper then cobol hated cobal coz of the long coding and all. I know use progres software, it a 4GL RDBMS i find it very simple coz three lines of code can do what 5 pages of cobol could do it also has a user inteface builder where you can paint a screen and it comes with all the codes.. i have used it to develo a payroll system... programming is my bread as well, what do you develop?

I started programing when i was 14 which is like two years ago with dark basic and then moved to C++ which i found dark basic to be easy to learn and get a game made from it. So I would say that is the easiest but one that i have been using is python and that is easy to use too.

My first programming language was turbo Pascal. That was how everyone in my undergrad class started their first interaction with computer programming and thinking about my experience I would recommend it to every beginner because it's very easy to understand. Also, C can be a good choice because afterwards every one will be using c++, C# and java so C can be a good start too.
