Police Help For Messy Room.

When I open my Yahoo! Mail account every morning, I always check the news reports too. Especially since little Madeleine McCann went missing. This morning though, another news report caught my eye, and as I read it, my mouth dropped open in shock. A nine-year-old German girl was so upset about having to tidy her room she put up a sign in her window urging passers-by to call police for help. Pedestrians in the central city of Braunschweig saw the girl crying in the window, holding up a sign up saying "Help! Please call the police!" Next to her sat a small boy. For full story, click the link. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/rtrs/20070521/tts-uk-germany-girl-bed299d.html I'm quite astounded by this to be honest. I didn't know whether to laugh or just say "Oh My God." LOL. I do feel it's very much a waste of police time though, and she is lucky she didn't get into trouble, especially using her little brother to help her too. I personally feel that being told by the Police to clean her room is punishment enough, especially because they said they were coming back to check. On the other hand, you can't say that the girl wasn't creative lol. What do you guys think about this? Should the girl have been given a punishment for wasting Police time, or was the punishment of being told to clean her room enough?

LOL, rugrat. I don't know what to say here. This girl must be out of her mind or just plain seeking attention. I wouldn't know what my reaction will be if I'm the mother. Its a good thing that everything had settled down in the end. The policemen must be shaking their head for being alerted on such a "unique" case.

Lol charms, it's definitely a unique case for sure! I don't think my daughter would ever go to such lengths though if she didn't want to tidy her room LOL. Mind you, she knows she doesn't have a choice if she wants to go out and play :P I do feel it's sad though that the girls mother wasn't able to enforce conditions to make her daughter tidy her room. It kind of makes me wonder what sort of home life they really have.

My thought exactly. If I'm the mother, I would instill a little punishment for putting such an act. I mean what the girl did isn't funny at all.

I was in shock when i read what you wrote here. I know one thing: that this girl will get whatever she wants in life. It is not normal for a girl at the age of nine to do a thing like that. LOL. Where did she get the nerve? If i were her parent i will probably ask the police that came to the house to punish her. Maybe clean the police station for a week or so. LOl. Where did she get the nerve to do so? If i was her parent i would start worrying now..;)

I think cleaning the break room of a police station is a brilliant idea! Just wait until her teenaged hormones kick in. I bet she will be an utter delight!

Amazingly, this triggered a memory for me. When i was little and the windows fogged up at home or in the car. I would write "Help" so it could be read from outside. I have no idea why I chose to write that word...yes, my childhood was unhappy, but what did I hope to achieve? As for the girl who wrote her plea because she was told to clean up her room...what a drama queen! A smack on the backside was what she deserved. Children need discipline.

I think this is a wake up call for the little girl not to use the police in such a way. I feel by the police making her clean her room is enough. I feel if the girl does something like that again she should go down to police headquarters hand cuffed in a car and told she was going to go to jail. If she is going to be punished by the police then the police will have to spend most of their time arresting or punishing lots of other people of calling them for silly things. Now the parents may have punished the little girl someother way.

That kid must be fun to deal with on a day in and day out basis. What a (creative) brat! Of ocurse no one could take any chances and NOT call the police in this day and age, but I hope they did the bad cop, bad cop routine an instilled in her the notion tha there may have been someone who really needed their help while she was messing.

I think thats to cute but yes its bothersome too. She sure is going the right way if she wants to get in to politics. she can draw a large crowd to herself. The punishment was enough I guess, lol she is creative. I hope my son doesn't read this one
