Good morning every one I was just thinking it is time for me to gather up all the news papers and put them in the recycle bin, most of them haven't even been opened. I got out of the habit of Reading the news papers along time ago and now it is just a nuisance, I get most of my news from the Internet or my TV. so I am wasting time even carrying them down the hall, we do not have to pay for them or I wouldn't have this problem, How about you do you still get a paper and do you read it?

we don't actually get the paper, but my parents do and if there is something interesting in it, they pass it along...they are retired and look forward to getting the paper each day... i find we are just too busy to read the paper...hubby and i both work and have kids and they have activities etc...so it would be just a waste of trees for us... when hubby and i retire, we will consider getting the paper tho...i love to be on top of things and know what is happening around me!

When I was younger, I read a newspaper almost everyday. Now, I might look at the Sunday paper once in a while. I don't follow the news much, so about the only section of interest is the sports page. Everything else, including sports can be found on the internet. But I don't watch the news on TV, or read it much on the Internet. By the end of the week, I have forgotten what I read on Monday anyway. The news is too negative and controled by people that that do not have my best interests in mind. And I can remember recycling bags and bags of newspapers by taking them to the recycle center. I don't miss them at all.

some Times the old adages that ignorance is bliss and no news is good new are true. I do watch the news on TV but that is national and I do not bother about the local as it is terribly slanted this a huge Mennonite community and is refereed to the middle of the bible belt, I think there are at least 57 Christian churches here and that is not including a huge East Indian population that have 3 very large temples. As well that is a very big Mormon temple. and countless services held in just buildings they are not designated as churches. So of course the editorial page is constantly under attack for siding with or against the beliefs of someone or another. So no I do not bother with the local papers unless i am looking for a coupon for a local store.

No I don't get the newspaper. My husband and I decided a long time ago that it was a waste of our money since about the only thing he looked at was the sports section. Most of the time it went unread. The only good thing I like about having a newspaper around is to use it in packing when I move.

no I don't buy the newspaper for me it is a waste of a tree. I listen to the evening news and I read online whatever I need to know and that is enough for me.

You know Robin if I had to pay for the paper it just wouldn't happen. We actually get the paper free and that's fine, I do carelessly read it. You know look at the pictures and laugh at the words. LOL Not really but yes I do read the paper some. I do however get most of my news from the television. It appears it's all bad news these days. Take care.

I used to subscribe to a newspaper and actually read it, but not any more. I do not have a subscription any more. Once or twice a month I grab a newspaper while shopping and I actually read it because I paid for it. But these days I usually read the local newspaper online. It is free and fast. And I do not have to throuw the paper out. The internet has changed many things in my life.

I see you and I agree on this subject I need to find more thing free, and I do think of the environment mind you most newspapers are out of recycled paper and no trees are killed on my behalf. And yes the Internet has changed my life and I must say for the most part to the good.

I am not subscribed to newspapers because I would never get around to reading them. My schedule gets busy during the day so I would not get a chance to sit down and take a look over them. Plus I try to avoid the news as much as I can because it can be really depressing or downright silly at times.

Newspapers - newspaper
We subscribe to a daily paper and try hard to read it everyday. I do admit sometimes a few do go into the recycle bin unread - especially if the day was hectic or I was very ill then. However, we do make the effort to keep up with our local events as well as the national and international news we dont get on TV. ALWAYS REMEMBER TO KEEP GREEN - RECYCLE!!!!

Hi Robin. We buy a newspaper two days a week, and my hubby reads it inside out, but I hardly ever read it myself. Like you, I see the news on TV and that is good enough for me. However, we get a free local paper delivered weekly, and I must admit I enjoy reading that, because it's all local news.

Yes, we are subscribed to the local newspaper. We also get the town paper on Wednesdays and Sundays, that one is free. I don't have time to actually read them but I do browse through them everyday. Whenever they send sales paper, I take a look at those.

I've thought about cancelling my daily newspaper. It's costly and sometimes I barely read it and then I have days where I know I would surely miss it if it wasn't there. I suppose if we cancelled it, it probably wouldn't be that big a deal and I could pick up the paper whenever I wanted it.

We do still take the local newspaper, so that we can have local news. Although, I am not sure how much longer we will subscribe. The cost is astronomical, they have quit delivering it....they have it mailed! I don't get my mail until mid-afternoon, so much for a hot cup of coffee and the morning paper! Our local paper has no national news, I rely on online sources for that. Other than local arrests and news, it really isn't worth it!

We no longer get the paper, but my son delivers it. I read the paper online.
