I'm not sure what the laws are like in your country, but here in Ontario Canada pit bull puppies are illegal. If you own a pit bull, it is the law that you must have the dog spayed or neutered. How do you feel about this? Is it fair? Why or why not? I don't think it's really fair to outlaw the breed like this, if anything spaying and neutering should be a must for every pet these days until the animal population becomes in contol.

I don't think any particular breed should be forced to be spayed or neutered.

I am against animals cruelity and I think taking away their way of making babies is cruel too, but if it is for their own good, I suppose it is ok.

I think it's the same here where I live. I just don't think it's right since they are pure breed now if they do that then there will be no more pit bull around this world.

Pit Bulls are a breed that were bred for fighting. Bred for meaning it's somehow in their DNA to fight I suppose. If you have not seen what a pit bull can do to a child then please start searching the net for fatal pit bull attacks. A small pit bull can drag down and kill an adult. I think all animals should be spayed or neutered unless owned by a licsensed (sp) breeder. My animals have always been spayed or neutered. Here the pit bull and rotwiellers are limited to how many can live in one household and they must be licensed and contained at all times on a leash or in a fenced in area. There was a little boy attacked in a small rural area near here while waiting for a school bus. The bus driver could not save him. Three dogs killed him while the bus drvier and kids on the bus to include siblings looked on. The owner of the dogs knew they were mean and a problem and did nothing to properly secure them. I do not think the law is unfair, I think people putting an animals life over humans life is unfair. I also think irresponsible dog owners should be help responsible for what injuries their pets cause.

I thin this is incredibly unfair. I won a pitbull mix and I did not fix her. I couldn't stand the idea of someone cutting her. If it was a surgery to save her life it wold be different, but I couldn't just take her to the vet and let them cut her open to make her more convienient to me. She has never had puppies, I wanted her to at one time, but hten I was afraid of how much giving birth might hurt her and then the emotional pain she would feel when I had to give the puppies away, plus she never met the right dog that wasn't fixed. She has a male dog that is fixed that is her boyfriend. When she has her dog period I give her Bufferin to help her with the cramps. I believe I made the right choice. I do not believe that removeing healthy organ is good for any living thing. If you did that to a person it would throw them into menopause.....it does the same thing to a dog or anything else. I once knew an older man who showed me a picture of a very healthy and happy looking german shepard, he told me that she was 18 years old and could still play like a puppy and he belived whole heartedly that this was because he had not fixed her. Everything need hormones to be healthy, just think about it.

Yeah I think any dog which is known for being nasty are illegal here. I think you have to apply for ownership of one and then re do it every so often. We've had a large problem with dogs killing younger kids/babies. ~Joey
