So Bruce Springstreen, and Bon jovi are big New Jersey born artists. I am sure there are more but I can't think of any at the moment. Where you live what big singer or band is from there if any?

yep! they just blew up all of a sudden, they're HUGE! and it didn't take them long to get there. one of our local radio stations plays only local music one night a week, and they played them, got such a great response, and all of a sudden they had a record deal, and look how huge they have become? songs on grey's anatomy and such, it's crazy. but big congrats go out to them!!

Do you know or remember Eddie Cochran? He was from my hometown. Each year they have a big weekend that is dedicated to his memory. It's back to the '50 here!

He sang "Summer Time Blues" and also sang with Buddy Holly. And it's way cool...old cars....dances and a parade. Marion Ross is from here and comes back once in a while to attend the festivities. She is a very cool person!

I love Bon Jovi! Just love them! How about Teddy Geiger?? Know him? He is from a city about 35 miles from me- I love his music. It's pretty cool that someone from around here has made it big!

Bon Jovi is okay! They aren't my favorite but I think it stems to not liking New Jersey and wanting to move away..lol I've heard of Teddy Geiger!!

I live in North Dakota now. Lawrence Welk is the only famous person that I know of from here. There's just not much here. I'm from Missouri. There are several famous people from there. Eminem and Nelly are both from Missouri. So is Chuck Berry. There are several country stars that were born there, but moved away later.

I grew up in Seattle Wa. and I went to the same high school as Jimmy Hendrix. Not the same years of course but the same school. Ann and Nancy Wilson from heart grew up here. Seattle is also known as the home of grunge music, but I never really cared for that music. Take care, Terry

Since I am not a native of Oklahoma, I only know a few. Toby Keith, Reba McEntire, Vince Gill, Garth Brooks and we can not forget our newest one, Carrie Underwood. My oldest daughter went to school with Toby Keith's daughter. She was so excited about that when we first moved here and she started high school.

Country and Christian seem to be the biggest, but than we are in the "Bible Belt". If I wasn't too old I just might have tried outm I can't do much worse than William Hung and he got a record lable lol. Hubby knows more about the singers from here, hopefully went get gets back on in the morning he will see this and answer.

LOL!! I couldnt try out, I have a terrible voice, and I am sure I would have no personality. I'd stand there like a deer in headlights. I lived in Nebraska for a few years and it was all rap or country, my two least favorite varities of music

Nobody famous came from the city I live in now, but I lived in Palm Harbor, FL when Savatage was getting their start. Some of the members are now in Trans Siberian Orchestra.
