I just got back from a trip. While visiting reletives I read where the State of New York does not have enough money to fix the roads but is spening 30 million on setting up seat belt check point s to check for seat belt use. I went throught one of these check points and there were three police officers setting up a road block to check to see if people were using seat belts. What a waste, as they people approched the officers they had pleanty of time to buckle up. What a waste of money.

It's better to waste money to (not) enforce a useless law than to actually use the money wisely.

30 million?!! for a couple of officers and a couple of those wooden stand thingys with the reflector strips on it? and maybe a STOP HERE sign. lol how pathetic! it is truely astounding what our government considers as "appropriate spending"!! quite a bit of it seems to defy any logic completly!

The article did not mention how many states and communities were involved but Is it the best way to use our money?
