I came across a discussion someone posted and i wanted to respond to it when i saw the heading but when i tried to read the whole writing to understand it, the abbreviations i made it difficult for me to understand what that persons posted. should such own abbreviations be used, can you get your message across? what is your idea? i know there is freedom of expression but how do we get what we want others to know across?

Well if the writer wants people to respond and they are using jargon/slang/abbreviated terms that no one else knows, then they will not get any or few responses. I on the other hand prefer that they use the fuller terms because then I am able to respond accordingly. I probably would not answer the discussion if I was not able to understand it.
