Hi! This is the first time I sold something on e-bay. Sold means I had one bid only and the listing time is over. Its actually 24 hrs over already but why the buyer is not paying me? I have sent the message to him how to pay etc. Still nothing from that side. I think if somebody bid on ebay, he is bound to buy it. Right? Now what should I do with it? This is my first sell and I want some feedback. Anybody has any advice for it?

I've sold a few things on e-bay. He is legally obliged to pay you, but may takke a while. Firstly in your listing did you say how to pay, cheque, postal order, paypal, etc and did you give a time limit on how soon you wanted payment. If you said you'd accept cheques or post orders the buyer may have posted payment to you but not updated e-bay to tell them. If hes paying by paypal he may not have checked to see if hes won yet if its only been 24 hours, I would give it another day and then try contacting the buyer again if still no response then contact e-bay. If he dosen't pay I think e-bay will terminate the transaction (this will not affect you but will adversly affect the other guys ratings) and allow you to re list the item for free. Hope this helps.

Indeed the buyer is obligated to pay for his wares, however there are contributing factors such as, the seller fraudulently did not post shipping and handling charges that were outrageous, or the buyer could not establish his account through paypal since paypal requires a small verification before the sale goes through. other people may not take Ebay seriously either. Personally, I have had some bad experiences with sellers trying to knock up the shipping and handling sky high, and ripping off the buyers. who wants to pay 15$ shipping and handling for a bead? a dirty bomb tactic played by unscrupulous people trying to cheat the system, by not recording the shipping and handling in the general bid. Unfortunately, eBAY isn't for me. Sorry to hear about your experiences, as well.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I told the paying option when I listed the item Also there was no postal cost, its free. Aslo I only accept paypal this time. All these were clear from the begining. I am just thinking if I miss some steps so want experts advice. Thanks so much. I will wait another 24 hrs then.
