Have you ever seen something that wasn't really there?

Have you ever thought you saw something, and later decided there was no way it could've been real? Well, with fear you of sounding a little bit weird, I remember one day as a kid, I was out mushrooming with my family. Now, dad had a special place he like to look for mushrooms, and needed keys for gates to get there. I had wandered off quite a way and walked down into an empty riverbed, and when I came up, I saw.... no, I thought I saw a tiger just a little way off. I slowly backed up the way I came, and crept off. I never told my parents about this, and later decided I couldn't possibly have seen it. And no, we were'nt looking for 'magic' mushrooms. I think maybe I got a touch of sunstroke or something, but it freaked me out at the time. Anyone else had an experience like this?

I am just curious, are you in an area where seeing a tiger would not be so unusual? Otherwise, our eyes do tend to play tricks on our mind and usually there are reasonable explanations for what we see. Other times, there is no explanation for what we think we see and then know from experience that we positively could not have seen that. Again, it is our intellect and imagination that serve us well in our travels through life on lanet earth . . . sharing the light, Erica, the Enlightenment Advisor M.A. Transpersonal Psychology Studies Counseling, Author & Artist http://www.shareapic.net/content.php?id=1838803&owner=enlightenedpsych2 What do you 'see' in the above link I gave you to check out?

Yes, I'm from Australia, and the only place we see a tiger here is when we go to the zoo! That is the main reason I think it could not have been real. I doubt there would've been an escaped tiger without the public being let know. Thanks for the link, I'll check it out!

Well...that hasn't really happened to me, but my friend Erin would often see weird and entertaining stuff that wasn't really there. It was usually only for a second or 2 that she saw things, but it happened sort of on the regular for her i guess. She just was a sort of bizarre and unusual girl who was probably in touch with amazing things i can't imagine.

Well that sounds interesting, but I think that sort of thing would freak me out a little. Mind you my 'tiger' did that quite well anyway.

I can't help thinking what if. What if you did see one, what if one had escaped from somewhere or something like that. That is a cool story , I can't say I have had any such experiances though.

I think 'what if' also. What if it was real, and spotted me ( or smelt me) and decided it was hungry. I think in the end, it must've been a touch of sunstroke. Otherwise, my whole family may have been in danger.
