Same AVATAR for more members!!!

Sometimes it may be dumb luck. The very first avatar I used here, is now in use by another member. I know Charms had this problem with her name. I get to know whose avatar is whose and recognize people that way. I do however try to remember names as well as it is not against Mylot rules to have the same avatar. If the name and the avatar are close, then I would notify your friend and maybe they can watch this other eprson to make sure they are not stealing discussions or trying to pass themselves off as that person, hence ruining their Mylot reputation. I would be very angry to find another monkey around here ruining my name. Perhaps instigating fights, etc. If they have the same avatar only, I wouldn't like it much, but there is really nothing I can do.

I haven't seen anything in the myLot guidelines saying that two people having the same avatar is disallowed. As long as the avatar is not copyrighted, I see no issue. For myself, I would want an avatar that was unique to me, so I find another avatar if I found that someone had the same avatar as me. I know for me, seeing the familiar avatar is a convenient way to spot friends!

I really depends on whether the avatar was used inadvertantly or deliberately copied from another member. It may not be against the rules at Mylot, but using someone else's avatar is certainly not acceptable behaviour. Common courtesy should ensure that someone does not copy from a fellow member in any way.

With over 90,000 members I should think it is very likely that people will have the same avatar unless we all have to use our own personal photos and I think that would not be such fun. I tend to take more notice of the usernames anyway. It might be confusing if they often reply to the same discussions but would only be a problem if the second did it on purpose to malign the first. I hope it is just a coincidence and is ok. We should not assume ill of the person because of the bad manners of others.

i guess i haven't noticed, but it would drive me nuts, as i tend to really see the avatar moreso than the names (i mean i'm getting to know the names, it just takes more time for me), so it would be a little confusing...i haven't read anything on that, if it matters or not according to mylot rules...or can they even monitor that??
