As little as 2 months, my little princess became very fond of looking at colorful pictures, things and TV commercials. As a stay-at-home mom, I wanted my daughter to be introduced to the TV the proper way. I know that she doesn't understand me yet but I would rather start the practice of telling her what's good or not, what's right or wrong.
I searched for different kinds of DVD's for infants and toddlers. After trying one after the other, I was exhausted! My baby didn't even ant to look at the screen until I found a Baby Einstein DVD at a local mall. I had my doubts at first but tried it anyway. To my surprise, it worked! She was fascinated by the music and the footages. It's simple and yet it catches a little baby's attention. They show a lot of things with colors and sounds. My baby can now identify certain things as you can see from her reaction that she's familiar with them.
Adults who would watch the DVD would probably get bored (like my husband) but since it's really geared for babies, I'm sure your will definitely love the collection. I have 18 DVDs already and will continue to buy more.
My daughter is now 4 months old and enjoys them tremendously.
For parents out there who are in search for a great educational and entertaining video for their little ones, please do try this.
I hope some of you can also share your insights on this and recommend other great finds!

My daughter was never interested in a lot except commercials :) She'll be 1 next week & a catching tune in a commercial still gets her attention - she'll always stop what she's doing & watch or even dance to the commercial.
I don't think children can be introduced wrong - especially not at the age of yours, they don't understand TV so they don't know there's anything wrong with watching it - all they see is movement & colour & they hear the sound - that's it!
My daughter's first movies were tales of Winnie the Pooh, she now has a huge collection of movies - all kids ones like Finding Nemo, The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland (which is her all time favourite), Lilo & Stitch, Barbie, The Lion King & so on. I put them on for her during the day & she usually only watches them when she's eating or tired but they play anyway so she can watch them whenever she feels the urge to :) She spends the main of her day running around the house playing with her toys & such.
I think anything colourful, educational & definitely musical are good choices!
