Do you crave food when you are in physical pain? If so, what? How much?
Have you found any strategies to work with this? Care to share?
I tend to crave food when my pinched nerves or lower back hurts, and that really goes against my goal of losing weight.
Any ideas and discussions about this would be so appreciated!

Yes, I have experienced that. I usually crave something starchy like bread or pasta. I have had to fight those cravings, so when I get a strong craving I either pick up a Sunkist Vitamin C piece of 'candy' (it's not really candy) and have that rolling around in my mouth, or I get a big bottle of ice cold water. If that fails, I'll get a piece of fruit that you have to do a lot of chewing. Psychiatrists supposedly say that is what we are looking for something to chew on to give us the illusion we have just eaten a lot and are full. Uh, yeah. Hope it works for them at least! : )

Um. Yeah. Were the psychiatrists in pain when they came up with that?
Still, it might work. I will definitely give it a try.
Right now I am filling up on iced tea.
I might have to find an apple somewhere for later on.
Thanks for the advice! :-)

I woke up all hours of the night with sharp sciatic-nerve pain. I kept having to take my homeopathic remedy for it every 2 hours, all night long. I feel like cr*p from the lack of sleep, but at least now the pain is finally dying down from so many homeopathic sciatic pills. Yet, I am somehow supposed to smile and go on as if I was able to get a decent night's sleep, because if I DARE to show even a hint of how my ordeal is affecting me and how exhausted I feel, then I am, according to some people, a whiner, a complainer, lack faith, and am lazy.
I absolutely LOVE your post about stomping on the person's toe and disowning the person.
I have disowned A LOT of people due to their jacka** remarks.
The part about pouring diet soda on ice, I can't really do that because I am going organic-vegan. I wonder if they are coming out with certified-organic diet soda made with xylitol or stevia or something?
