I just had a knock on my door and when I answered it there was a little girl standing there. She was only around 8 or 9 years old. She pointed to the car and said my daddy is sick. So first thing I thought of was maybe they are trying to rob me or something bad. It was just the little girl so I said come in you can use my phone so she called her mom. I got on the phone and told the lady my address so she said she would be right there. The little girl and I went back to the car and the man was real white and shaking. So I said why dont you come up by the shade on my porch. So he did and got to my front and just laid down on the grass. Next thing you now the man across the street came running over and said is everything okay and I said no. He said I will call the police so he did and the ambulance came. Then his wife arrived. She said he had just started taking some new medicine this morning. And he is very sensitive to medicine so maybe thats what it was. So long story short I had the cops and the ambulance at my house. She left her car here and will pick it later. She will let me know how he doing. She was so thankful to me but I feel like I didnt do anything. I just hope he is going to be okay. I waited with the little go while the amblulance worked on the man and she started to cry so I started talking to her and made her feel alot better. Wow what an exciting day I had.

Well, I am glad you were there. At least, if there was nothing else you could do, you could be there for the little girl. It had to be hard to see her dad that way. I'm glad she was able to get ahold of her mom and that everything was ok when they left you. I hope he is okay and Hope they praise the girl for a job well done. He is lucky that she went for help.

yep. i will do it, too. but i'll be a bit cautious somehow. there are so many bad people around. better be cautious than be sorry. but still, have a helping heart.

Isn't terrible in a way how suspicious we are now...years ago in this kind of scenario, if this situation happened we wouldn't be suspicious that something like this was a con deal or the person was out to rob you...But I'm glad that maybe your suspicions were only momentary -- He must have been in pretty bad shape just to lie down on the ground like that...I hope you can find out how he is--you said the man's wife would pick up the car she left?? Please tell us if you find out anything okay?
And you felt like you didn't do anything...for shame TerryZ--you did a lot!

Wow, indeed! It feels good to be of help to others. You're the good Samaritan to that sick man. The girl is so brave to have done what she did! I could just picture her knocking at your door to ask for help. Poor one, hope her daddy would be alright. You now have added one little girl as your friend. And you are the right person at the right time...

What an experience. And how brave the little girl was to go get help! I'm glad everything worked out. What is sad, is that we have learned to be suspicious first, to protect ourselves. Bravo to you.

The family of that man is so fortunate that you were home and was able to help them. Nowadays, it is just normal to be skeptical at first when people knock on your door and tell you stories. It is much better to be cautious rather than be sorry.
I hope the man will be allright. At least the little girl asked for help because there are lots of reaction to medication that might be too late if not being treated right away.

wow, that's something to remember your day by. i don't think i've even been in that kind of situation before, but i hope i'll handle it the same way you did. there's something really unique about knowing that you've helped someone, especially one who is in a serious health emergency. stories like these reaffirm my believe that we are not where we are in a point in time without some purpose.great job!

Wow, that is exciting. Well done you for being such a good Samaratin! That man was very lucky his daughter was there. I hate to think what would have happened had he just pulled over and collapsed in the car where no one could see him. Who knows how long it ouwld have been before he got help.

That was so delightful and fullfilling to know that. It is in our capacity to extend effort to help others that make us happy and blessed. I am sure, you have made your day earlier.
Sometimes, we end up having into a discretion of just being a needed person. A person whose always in there with open arms to give comfort and loved and that is a blessing. We must be grateful for that, for providing us the strength and capability to give rather than receive.
I pray for more blessings for you from God and please continue doing more even on the same way.

Isn't it awful that the first thought we have these days is I wonder what these people are up to. It's the same here in Canada. No matter how we like to help we have to second guess the situation. Anyway Thank-God you were home and able to give assistance. You said you felt you didn't do anything, I see it a whole lot different, you may have not only saved the mans life but you were able to comfort the child. Had you been a miserable person and told the girl to get lost she may have paniced and done nothing more to get help. Good you helped and I hope the fellow is okay. Take Care.

It's great to hear that you have helped someone out and calmed down the little girl.
You see you feel like you didn't have done anything but you did.For them you have helped major. What if you weren't around? It could have turned out into a disaster.
