Corn snakes.

I have been pestering my parents off and on for the past year about getting a pet snake. After my hamster passed on, I was really hoping they'd relent and let me bring one home. But they didn't, and I didn't push it because I was wrapped up in schoolwork and staying on top of my grades. But now that summer's rolled around and I have much more time to commit to.. anything, I am really set on bringing home a hatchling corn snake. I spent a while researching what kind of snake was the best for beginners (as I've never had a reptilian pet before). Well, it was only a few days, but it was concentrated research. I spent hours online into the wee hours of the morning looking at beginners' reptile info and corn snake information. I think I am fairly informed as to what this endeavor will require of me. I am prepared to commit to this animal, and I know once I have a planned out schedule, it'll be a breeze. But I still want to hear advice coming from experience, and I was hoping people who have owned corn snakes - or any snake - could give me tips or advice on caring for corn snakes, or even just broad tips about keeping a reptilian pet. For instance, there are some questions I couldn't find solid answers to: - Is there a gender that is easier to care for? - What is the best place to get frozen feeder mice? - I came across a report of depigmentation in the "piebald" morph.. is that a possible problem in other morphs or nothing to worry about? Anything you can think of would be great. I'm looking for general advice in every direction. Thanks!

i love corn snakes, they are easy to take care of adn friendly. it doesnt matter if you get a male or female, as long as you are devoted to caring for it and handling it. we also got our feeder mice just right from the pet store in their freezer section. it was a whole lot easier than having to feed them live mice, though i really didnt mind that either!!! make sure you read about them as much as possible!! i hope you get one!
