I said exactly the same thing years ago, I needed easy, very easy so someone who builds them as a business suggested I build one through WORD which of course I already had on my computer, he said that would have to be the easiest you could get at that time, I wanted to make a tribute site for a friend who had passed away, he was in the entertainment business and seeing as I wasn't going to be selling anything and just wanted a page to give photos and information it was safe to use WORD, many people have told me WORD is not good some have even said you can't build a webpage through WORD but I did... If you are really serious about putting up a site, I can help you with it. I am not going to charge for fees and you are not going to pay for anything from me either. What we'll do is we'll have your domain name hosted on a free service, get a free domain name to go along with it. And all the works. As for design, if you have Microsoft FrontPage, it's going to be easy. If you don't have that, we can go as they have suggested like wordpress, joomla, and other free webtemplates.
