Growing tomatoes and other vegetables indoors?

Have you ever tried to grow vegetables inside..Like tomatos or other? I am trying to grow a few indoor veggie plants.. What type of tomato is good for indoors? Do you know any plants that would survive indoors?

You could grow such things as herbs these will will grow good in the window. Loike your kitchen window or some where where it is. sunny. I don't know about tomatoes indoors.
