I have had some excellent mentors in my life but one in particular will always be my favorite. He made me realize that to be a good employee one must be able to say no when the need arises. He taught me how to be assertive and not aggresive. How to be loyal to myself, and how to respect myself so others would respect me. He will always stand out as one of my best friends. Have you had the experience of having a good mentor in your life? What did you learn from him/her?

As you get older there will be some people in your life that will act as mentors and give you good advice and help you in your life. Thank you for your response. Have a good weekend.

Well, I have had a few in my life. One of my most favorite mentors will be an older couple in the Church I grew up in. They were some of the sweetest people you would ever meet. They knew our family was going thru hards times and they litterally, took me under their wing for like 2 yrs. and helped me in ways no one else could have. Turns out I found out the wife may have even been distantly related to us. But I have always wondered what ever happened with these 2 when they moved away. I am sure they are gone by now as they were in their 50s when I was in High School. Another one would be 2 woman in the Church I used to attend in Easter Wa. This woman was litterally like a second Mom to me. They took me under their wing and nurtured me even when my own Mom was not there. She gave me advice, etc. and always Prayed with me, and for me when I needed help. Still to this day these are people I can count on for support and care and Prayers when I need them the most. Where would I be without these people I do not know, but I am Glad I have had a chance to have them as a part of my life.

My basketball coach and history teacher when I was in high school. She taught me some of my favorite things. 1) There is no "I" in team. 2) There is no such word as CAN'T. 3) Always give 110%--no matter what. This is my favorite... 4) You never HAVE to do anything. You GET to do it. No, ou don't HAVE to run around the track 15 times, You GET to! Always make things positive!!! Thank you for letting me remember her. I loved my teacher and have never forgotten the thing she taught me!
