This comment is more for women - Have you watched the recent coverage of the pageant? Personally, I find it not as classy as those Miss Universe pageants in the past. It is already very commercialized and packaged for the male species. I should say I find it worldly, no wonder Miss Sweden backed out. Specially the swimsuit portion, the contestants look merely like Sports Illustrated models & not anymore classy miss universe contestants.

I agree with you. The girls these days are all in it for the fame and fortune. They all try to out-do each other when walking and modeling. Used to be an elegant walk, now they are all prissy with their hands on hips and doing twirls, etc. I don't like it. I think the girls should be judged more on on academics and community involvement, not just beauty.
Felt bad for Miss USA when she fell on her bum...hehe.

I very much agree with you. There is now a thin line between being in miss U pageant and posing for playboy.
