Formerly I posted a discussion about macular degeneration, but I couldn't find it to update it so I am posting here. My husband will have the first of four eye surgeries tomorrow (May 30). They will remove the cataract from his left eye. Next month there will be a second surgery, probably for the right cataract. The two months following will be two separate Laser surgeries to correct the macular degeneration in each eye. Please keep him in your prayers for a calm spirit, trust in the doctors and healing. Please pray for me to be patient and gentle and calm. Thanks, friends.

I hope and pray that his eye sight will be restored. Eye surgery has come so far in recent years. A man at our church had cataract surgery last Tuesday and was well enough to fly to Japan. I hope by now the surgery is over and hes home and amazed at how well he feels

He is indeed home. He is anxious to have the patch and protective shield removed tomorrow morning as it is very uncomfortable. Also, he says he can "see" through the perforations in the shield. I'm very excited about that. That eye was completely blind before this morning.

Dear Lord, I just pray that you will touch kbkbooks' husband's eyes as tey do the surgery. I pray that you will totally heal his eyes of this disease. Lord, just give kbkbooks the patience and the gentleness and calmness that she needs. Just keep you comforting hands and arms around them. In Your precious Name, I pray, Amen.

Thank you so much for your prayers. The surgery went well. They gave him a gentle tranquilizer, which is common procedure I guess. He was very calm and the surgery went well. He slept all afternoon and now is up listening to TV. The patch comes off tomorrow morning.

Thank you so much. The surgery went well. Today it was not laser, but they just did a regular surgery, cutting off the first cataract. After they cut off the second cataract in a few weeks, they will wait a few weeks and then there will be two laser surgeries. It's really very safe and has many successes.
