Reflection of ourselves

I had a surprise when I opened my email today by getting a reply from one of the responses that I made on a discussion months ago. It was about ones choices about not having a child and in my response, I said that I respect that kind of decision because I actually know a wonderful person who chose not to have any children and each of has just have different callings and choices to make. To my surprise, another mylotter seemed insulted by my reply. No matter how diplomatic I try to be, another hung up and angry person gets defensive on me. I checked her other responses and I saw her use a very colorful language in the same discussion. I don't usually don't get bothered by such things but when she calls me insulting, she was actually the one who is being insulting with the way she label other people. My! she must have a very happy life! I think it really holds true that what we see in other people are really reflections of ourselves.

I think it is sad that some people are narrow minded. They are only displaying their ignorance with insulting words to a response they didn't read correctly with an opinion they did not respect or even understand. It is not what this site represents.

I found it really surprising because I didn't really expect to get such reaction because I thought I was really nice. I really try hard not to judge a person because in the first place I really think that I have no right to judge anybody and sometimes we just say things that others just doesn't take so well. I do feel the same way as you do, I do really find it sad and a bit vexing. I can't really take nastiness and name calling just because others doesn't think the same as some people do. This site is all about sharing ideas which may disagree with another without really being such a disagreeable person.

I mean that we only see those things that we want to see. If we see bad things only from other people, it is mostly because we are feel bad about ourselves. It is also the same in saying that we can't trust other people because we cant also trust ourselves.
