Ok I have two boys who are three and five. I was thinking the other day about what being a mother has taught me, and how much my boys mean. You know your a mother/father when.. -a child says mommy/daddy and you look{even if your kids arnt there}. -a cartoon comes on tv and you sing the theme song{you know who you are!!} -find yourself once again in the toy isle. -even a weed is beautifull! -90% of your conversatin starts with "my child.."-do the laundry and find bugs, gummy worms, and money in there pockets! -the sweetest words are "i love you mommy/daddy"-theres nothing better than a hug and a smooch from your child. -every day is a learning experiance. -the simple things in life mean the most!So my question to you is: You know your a mother/father when...??

I know I'm a mother when I put myself into any situation involving kids and try to figure out what I would do... I know I'm a mother when I hear a child crying and I rush to see what's wrong... When I hear of children being abused and my stomach spins and I wonder how anyone could do such things... When a picture, just scribbles, has so much meaning... When I begin to say things my kids say without intenting to, even when it sounds stupid...

1. You know you're a mother when you start buying cereal that has your childs favorite cartoon character on it and don't think to consider what the cereal actually is. 2. When you go to work humming the tune to Sponge Bob or Little Einsteins and wonder why people are looking at you crazy, do they not know the tunes? 3. When you go to bed early because you know that your child will be up in a few hours and you need all the rest you can get so you can keep up with them. 4. When you have the cable programmed to go to the Disney Channel at 6:30 in the morning instead of the local news. 5. When you hear a child crying and instantly know that it isn't your son/daughter crying but you run over there anyway incase they need some help.

This is really funny for me, b/c i do all of those things. Okay, well, most of them, as i'm the father, but my wife definitely does ALL of them. You know you're a parent: when you own more childrens movies then adult movies, and you're just as happy going to the theatre to see Shrek 3, as you would be for _____ fill in the blank. When the words, I will GIVE you something to cry about, pop out of your mouth. When the thought of shots doesn't make you wince for your own sake, but for the sake of your child. When you're more interested in buying the 200 swingset, than the 200 grill. When you get a night out without the small child with you, and you freak b/c you look in the backseat and they're NOT THERE. When you're at the store, and a small baby cries out, you instantly think, ohh..hungry? wet? unhappy baby...instead of, someone shut that kid up. LOL oh, the list goes on, and on. Being a parent has changed my entire life. And i wouldn't change a day of it.

I have to ask, how is Shrek 3? LOL we can't wait to see it. We'll have to wait about another month b/c we're monetarily challenged until after we close on our house. But somehow i think it'll still be in the theatres!! Is it worth going to see it on big screen? b/c you know anybody with kids is just going to turn around and buy it when it comes out on DVD

honestly they didnt like it. I didnt either. My boys wanted to go home halfway through. It was a big dissapointment. If I was you I woiuld wait till it comes out on dvd and rent it. Much cheaper if they dont like it.

You know you're a mommy when... ... you physically cannot watch a Feed the Children commercial. ... you're already at work before you realize you have assorted bodily fluids caked on your brand new suit. ... you reach into your bag for something to jot down that hottie's number and pull out a sippy cup or pacifier - and don't think it's odd! ... your entire vocabulary for 3/4 of your day consists of "how's my pretty baby? does the pretty baby like the little doggie? woogie, woogie, woogie!" ... you have no problem scarfing down a jar of baby peas as "lunch" ... there are more little boy clothes in your hamper than mommy clothes. ... you think it's fun to roll around in muddy boxes on a Saturday night.

I know I'm a mother.... when I start to sing "ABC song" or "Twinkle Twinkle Little Start" again and again and again and again when I prescribe a couple of kisses to cure a bruised knee/elbow when I can read stories a hundred times when I can listen to my kids weird stories and react as if it was real when I give my kids "Very Good" rating to their art works that honestly I can't even describe what are those

its nice to know that there are a lot of mothers feels the same way i do. I am a mother of a beautiful two year old girl....i never felt so happy everytime she dances and sings for me. everytime i go to work, i always feel so eager to come home. Just this week, i went to the mall 4 times just to buy her dolls. I was so amazed everytime she plays mother to all the dolls i gave her, she sings for them and even teaches them things. She gave each doll names. For a two year old, i was so impressed with her vocabulary because she can talked to me straight without using babytalks. I feel so lucky to be a mom of a very bright girl......you know you are a mother when you appreciate little things like this.

awwww those are too cute!! and soo very true!! lol!! ok here are mine.. 1. You count the sprinkles on each kid's cupcake to make sure they're equal. 2. You find yourself cutting your husbands' sandwiches into cute shapes. 3. You can't bear to give away baby clothes - it's so final. 4. You hear your mother's voice coming out of your mouth when you say, "NOT in your good clothes!" 5. You stop criticizing the way your mother raised you. 6. You hire a sitter because you have't been out with your husband in ages, then spend half the night checking on the kids. 7. You say at least once a day, "I'm not cut out for this job", but you know you wouldn't trade it for anything 8. you know your a mother when you your in a public bathroom and someone narges in and you dont even sweat it becase thatprivacy priveledge was taken years ago lol.. 9. When a simple Mommy Kiss on a boo boo makes all that pain they have goes away... 10.when you check in on them in the middle of the night, even when they arent theer that night lol..
