Yesterday I chanced upon this movie on cable - hallmark channel. It's called 'cages' and is set in singapore, starring tan kheng hua, and directed by Graham Streeter. Very very good movie. I think it was showing in Singapore in march this year. Apparently it's the first singapore film to be bought by Hallmark channel. Poignant story about a single mum and her estranged father. set against forgotten suburban singapore (pulau ubin) and juxtaposed with the modern skyscrapers, it is a story of not daring to love too much. very well shot, and the acting was superb. the japanese actor who played the father was especially convincing. www.cagesmovie.com for more. enjoy!
