It is similar to having a polyamerous life style. The diffrence is with Polygamy only 1 person mainly them male has many wives or partiners. With a polyamerous relationship it is completely open and both male and the female are allowed to have multiple partiners and every one knows about everyone.

As others have already said, polygamy is when one individual has more than one spouse. Usually it is one man to more than one woman.
As to how I feel about it? Neutral. In societies where the men die at a faster rate than the women - due to hunting deaths or war - this makes a lot of sense. The women all have a man of the house and can group together to do what needs to be done at the home. In most cases, this is perfectly acceptible to them.
Also, judging by how common "cheating" is, I'm not sure monogamy is natural to us. I've long suspected that monogamy is a result of leadership-induced culture, rather than natural.
Me, I'm not in a polygamist relationship (so far as I know). I have one spouse and one lover, and they are the same person. This works for me, as well as most.
