Doing community service is always a great experience for me! I started doing community service a year ago, and it really has been an eye-opener. At first I was reluctant but after just surrendering to the process, it feels absolutely comforting to be able to be at service of other people. Focusing out to those less fortunate rather than myself made me feel peaceful and calm. It made me realize that my life seemed unimportant compared to the poor. Attached is a picture of me and together with a group of volunteers, we helped build a small library and community hall for the aboriginal people of my country. It really was an amazing experience to see the glimmer of happiness in the kids' eyes just to be reading new books, something that we take for granted a lot these days.. I do wish to continue doing community service. What about you?

hmm, can i ask why you never have done community service?? any particular reason? well, i wouldn't say it's comfortable per say.. but when you help and reach out to others, you wouldn't really focus whether you're comfortable or not.. the entire overwhelming feeling you have when you focus out, that's a greater experience than being comfortable. you should try it! =)

Yup..I have done community service.and i really liked doing it..It is compulsory in my college to do 30 hours of community service and that forced me to do it..or else i was very reluctunct to do thinking that whether i could really help others or not..I did my community service in one hospital although it wasnt a big help to thjem but i got satisfaction that i did some kinda help to them..and in my second year i did my service in oneblind school..and believe me..it was really very nice experience..and i really enjoyed it..! and they were also quiet satisfies with my work..and believe me..If I wudnt have gone ther..I would have missed something..I loved helping those self challenged people..I have decided to continue my service to them..:)

That's really great of you. It's amazing how at first you were reluctant and now love doing community service. It just goes to show that you must dive into something first before you could make your mind up about it.. What are your plans of community service in the future?

I volunteered in a nursing home for 6years, I think this sort of thing makes you becme much more compassionate and I know for me it brought me out of my shyness because I got so used to entertaining the residents, I really got to love the dear old souls.
