Mostly everyone loves to receive gifts. However each country all over the globe have a different opinion on this matter. For me i love receiving gifts but it is not essential that someone brings me gift on my bday. I would rather prefer to fell their presence, their greeting, to hear their voice on the phone, and their laughs during the occassion. I would want them to remember me and the relationship (friendship/family/love ones) that we have build over the years. I've heard to some countries it is a SIGN of how much you care, that is was tradition to them. For me this is also nice, though i am not used to the idea. If that is how they view gifts, i admire them if they keep it always. But again iam not sure if this is true. So would you share how you value gifts? are they important to you? what do they signify? is there a tradition in your country about gifts? Do share your thoughts. :)

I like receiving gifts. I like them to have a little thought behind them, too. I'd love it if my husband would take our daughter shopping to pick something out for me. He doesn't even have her get me a card or make me one, but I'm always having her do stuff for him. I don't need gifts from other people, but I do expect something from my husband. I'm usually disappointed because he remembers last minute, and I know that, so it's not much better than receiving nothing at all. Receiving gifts from others is always a nice surprise and much appreciated. I just try not to expect anything from my husband so I won't be disappointed.

I love recieving gifts from my children. Because they make stuff for me and they put their heart into so they mean a great deal. I have everything they have ever made me and on days when I think life is getting to rough. I pull out the scrap album and my box and go through it and feel so loved by looking at all the things. It's the little things in life that really matter material things eventually break or get thrown away but when something comes from the heart you never want to part with it.

I dont require a gift at my birthday. I am happy with just acknowledgement. Granted gifts are great and greately appreciated but not manditory.
