How much time should each parent spend with their children?

My husband and I both have to work to make ends meet. My husband doesn't spend time with my two boys unless its convient for him and I am always with them. I know that it shouldn't really bother me as much as it does but I feel that the fact that the boys hardly ever see him makes them feel abandoned and want to be with him all the time. Any one have an opinion on this topic?

My husband does this a lot too. He seems to only spend time with the kids when he feels that it is convient for him. He is a great dad and he is good with the kids and they know he loves them ,but it does bother me that he will put work before doing something special with the kids.
