If there is a ID card in the wallet, I will contact the owner and give it back. If I don't know the owner and I will wait for the owner at least half an hour at the spot when I find the wallet. Then I will take the wallet and keep it. I don't think it is bad to keep it if I can't find the owner. What will you do if you can't find the owner? Take it to police office?

Oh well,If there is no way to contact the owner i don't blame you for keeping the wallet. But the most important is at least you try.

If it has an identity card in it I will turn it into the police because ID Cards in my country are very important. If it doesn't though I will give it to the nearest lost and found I can find closest to the place where I found the wallet. I believe that if you do a good deed it will go back to you 10 times better :)

I would, and have returned wallets that I have found. They are opened only to find identifying information so that the proper owner can be located or called.

My wallet was returned anonymously after I left it on the pay phone in front of the mall-with over 200 bucks in it. I was so grateful someone had the heart to give it back. Another story that was in a paper awhile back was about a homeless man finding a wallet with 900 dollars in it and returning ALL of it to the owner. He chose to stay anonymous also. What a do gooder! remember one thing you can loose your wallet one day also.

I would go to every extreme to find the rightfull owner. Having been the one to have lost my wallet before, I know what a pain it is and how frightning. I would also return the wallet without it missing ANYTHING!

I don't know why but I have always wanted to find a lost wallet on the road or in the taxi or anywhere but no luck. LOL! Seriously, it's my desire that if someone loses a wallet let it be me the one who finds it because I'm going to return it. I want o experience the feeling of making someone happy that I returned his/her wallet and money. Unfortunately, I was the one who left my wallet in the taxi. And the to my dismay it had 5000 baht in it that I was going to return to someone I borrowed money from. For many days, I was hoping that the kind driver would show up and return the wallet as my school ID was there. But it was a fruitless hope. Now that I know how it feels to lose a wallet/money the more I am determined to return it if I find one.

Yes. I will return it to the owner. If the owner is not identifiable, I will go to the police station and hand it over to the police with a report. Thank you.

Yes, I would definitely return it back to the owner. I know how mind-boggling it can be to lose a wallet and I wouldn't want that person to feel that way. I would be better to give it back than having that person go through all the police reports and hassle of getting back all his stuff in the wallet. My brother once lost his wallet but the person only mailed back his identity card. He took everything else in the wallet.. :|

If I am able to find the owner I will return it. If not I will keep it.
