How far do you travel to go to work every day?

When I lived in a city environment I still found myself traveling 45 minutes by car each way to work. Well then I moved to a rural area and didn't realize how poor the pay is until the move was done and how hard it is to find employment when your resume has a well known instution on it in an area that is so underdeveloped. So my last job ended up being 74 miles each way to work. How about you? Has anyone traveled that distance or farther just to go one way to a job?

The distance between my office and home is about 15 kms. It takes about 40 minutes to travel each way. This is so assuming that there is no traffic problem. If there is one, then you would not know how long it would take. But I would take much more time for the same if my travelling hours were during peak hours.

Thanks Norstar, I wondered if it was the same in other countries.

I don't travel at all, as I work from home. I am an artist. But, my husband will travel about 100 miles a day. With gas prices as they are, it really hurts the pocket, not to mention the safty odds going down the longer one is on the road.

I agree, gas is rising and I know I saw plenty of traffic jams on the interstates from accidents. It's not surprising me that states are starting to go after road rage drivers! The congestion just seems to keep getting worse.
