and got a brand new shinny star with a 7 in it. but i noticed that there are more star colours and numbers... and i have the same star with the same pretty 7 like a person with over 1000 posts here. so... what do the colour/ numbers mean? and how come i have the same star with a person that has spent a lot more time on mylot than me??? plese pretend i'm retarded and explain it in that kind of way. but only this once:P

Congratulations! I just got mine today too. I still haven't figured out what the colors mean but apparently the 7 is based on how we are being rated by other mylotters for discussions we start and replies we make to their posts. If you go to mylot faqs it explains better than I have here. That's where I found it. I hope this helps.

The color of the star depends on how many times your responses or posts were rated "+" or whether or not someone has rated you "-". Don't worry about the color of the star, it is not important and has no impact on anything. Congrats on the 100th posts.

LOL it's okay. You should have been around for the uproar when the stars were first introduced! The star is just a reflection of the rating that other mylot users give you for your replies and your discussions. It can go up or down at any given moment, and as far as i know, it doesn't affect your earnings. it's just a pretty little star with a number on it. LOL does that help?

Well, good job on reaching 100 posts. The star rating is determined by what others here at mylot rate you on your discussions and replies.
If you do not know about ratings, go to the right of the discussion or reply and you will see a + or -
By rating others you also determine their star rating.

Well, it looks like your question have been answered already. The only thing I can add is that try to post quality answers so others will rate you a "+". I believe that being selected as a best response will also bump up your rating. Congratulations on reaching 100 and good luck with mylot.
