i am wondering how long the inital pain will last, how long the supposed 'relief' will last, what the long term effects of cortisone are, has anyone ever had it done more than once? what is the limit of shots they will give...
thank you in advance to any one answering my questions!
have a great day!

Oh, i feel for you. My wife developed carpel tunnel in both of her wrists, and had several cortisone shots. First, not only are they seriously unpleasant to receive, but in my experience through her, the benefits don't last as long as they should. She would have numbness for normally less than 24 hours followed by several days of pain, followed by a lessening in the pain. She received another shot, both wrists, about every 3 weeks for a total of doing it four times. Finally it came down to the doctor saying, quit your job or have surgery. So i deeply feel for you with the pain in your knees. If it's like hers, the pain from the shot will last a couple of days. I hope it's a better experience for you than it was for her. Are you doing the shots to try to avoid surgery? They really do work for some people.
