Do you gag while brushing your teeth?

I was just curious to know whether this happens to you? My wife never use to do it until she started brushing her teeth with me and seeing me gag while brushing mine. I think it's trying to reach the wisdom teeth right at the back that usually cause the problem, but I have noticed with a smaller headed toothbrush, I don't do it as often. When I have a cold, I think the extra phlegm(sp) has an effect too. Ever have this problem?

I only gag when I brush my tongue and my partner picks on me for it all of that time, most of the bad breath comes from the tongue and since I have known this I have had to brush my tongue even if it does make me gag every time that I do it

Yeah, I get that problem when I brush the very back part of my tongue sometimes. It's not that pleasant, but I just feel gross if I don't get the back of my tongue clean. lol It makes me all paranoid about my breath! Anyway, yeah I gag sometimes when I reach really far back like that.

this is too funny! I never really did it until just the other morning, we were all in the bathroom brushing our teeth (yeah, three people..my roomate, boyfriend and I) and my boyfriend gagged trying to get the back of his tongue..we both have tonguerings, so I thought it was one of those "ouch moments" but it wasn't that..it was the toothbrush..I laughed at the way he went forward and the next thing I know, my friend is gagging too..I laughed and kept brushing..my boyfriend said something to him about gagging and being gay and it made me gag!

Every time I brush my teeth. Actually every time I brush my tongue. I always try to get all the way to the back of my tongue cause I sleep with my mouth open and it gets really nasty. Anyhow, in trying to reach the back of my tongue I always trigger the gag reflex.

oh, I hate trying to brush my tongue. Usually I end up with the front part of my tongue nice and pink, and the back part still all whitish and 'furry?!' They've apparently got new toothbrushes out with a special part on the back of it just for tongue brushing, but I doubt it makes things any easier! Happy gagging,lol!

I've had this problem a couple of times when I've been hungover, but it only really happens to me when I brush my tongue when my mouth feels particularly dirty. x

yes i do gag when I brush my teeth what I do to prevent this is when I'm about to gag, I take a deep breath to stop gagging.
