We all know the advantages and disadvantages of big cities vis-a-vis a small village. Where would you prefer to have your home located? In a big city or in a tiny village

Right now I live in the country in a small village. I prefer that over a big city. I don't like all the traffic in the city. I enjoy the quiet peaceful times here now. I am not too far from stores so its not that bad.

There are pros and cons to both but I would have to say that although I don't like the way a small town knows everyone so well that nothing is kept secret so you privacy is not really your own but at the same time it is a great place to raise children because there is less risk of them getting into trouble because as soon as they do something you are sure to get a phone call home about it . I am originally from the city and growing up , I always said that I would boot back to the city the first chance I got but now that I am older I would never want to live in a city as it is just to busy for me and I like the idea of it being so much safer where one does not have to lock there doors or can answer the door without fearing of who might be there . I am definitely a country girl now and love it this way although I wouldn't mind being a little closer to a city so that I wouldn't have to travel so far to hit some of the sales lol .

I would like to live in the small village as it would be calm, not so much noise, confusion... but live a few minutes away from a train system or something like that so that whenever I wanted I could visit the city. I think that way I could have the best of both, the clam village, and the shops... of the city. I experienced that for two months in 2005 and loved it! I loved the peacefulness of living in a calm area and being a few minutes walk from the train that would take me quickly into the busy city.

Hello Ranjeetkolarkar, I live out in the country, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I understand the many people who thrive off of the energy, and myriad of entertainment options of the city. But, for me the only noise I want to hear, when I lay my head on my pillow at night, is the sound of the crickets serenading me to sleep. So, I'm a definite vote for living in the sticks!

I would much prefer to live in a small village. I love the countryside and villages are never too far away from the cities anyway. At the moment i live in a lovely town called Alnwick which is only 45 minutes away from Newcastle, i think that's an ideal distance. The shopping is there when you need it but we still get peace and quiet.

if really given a chance i would have both. big city is where you can find good jobs. its an easy access in everything you like such as food, job, and a lot more. in the village everything is quiet. its a nice place to relax and unwind after a week of hard work.

At my age right now 25, i prefer the big city. It has more opportunities in terms of business and work as well. Of course with a great deal of knowledge that it is more expensive to live in big cities. When im around 40 or 50 i would prefer the smal cities, probably the province where there are lots of trees and animals. Somewhere close to nature. I do hope and pray that i would be able to do this when i reach that age. By the way, how about you? what do you like between the two?

Id rather to live in a tiny village...i love to stay in a quite place wherein having less noise, less traffic and i could still smell some fresh air around. Like wherein i grew up...for almost 30 years...my place is like a plateau...wherein overlooking by the sea...its a warmth place and free from pollutions. I could relax after some hard days work. It a nice place.

I like to live in a big city. Where I live now is 1 hour from San Francisco. We bought a house outside San Fran because it is less expensive. If we had the money to buy a decent house in the big city I wouldn't hesitate. I like small villages for vacation only but after some time I get bored. There is a lot of more life in big cities.

I'll prefer to have a large house in the big city because big cities have all facilities which a man needs but big cities are polluted so, i'll make a garden in my large home so that i may get rid of pollution. hehhehe. So, no more tension!!!! Its ok to have house in big cities.

It doesn't matter to me whether we live in a small village or in a big city as long as we can have the resources to provide a decent living to my family.

If I am stuck in some city then I would prefer the small village. Quieter and more laid back. Possibly safer and there is a comfort in knowing your neighbors. You can always driver to where amenities are and most are not necessary anyways. Small village is the one I would pick except I much prefer the country living.

i had lived in a small village before. and i admit, it's safer there and the neighbors are more friendly and closer to each other compared to the city where i am now.

I live in a small rural village. I much prefer the peace, slow pace, fresh air, friendliness and simplicity of the life here compared to the smog, traffic, crime, and apathy of city dwelling. I was born and raised in Sydney.

small village - I like small village very much. I hope I can live in there with my lover forever.
A small village, I think. I don't like noisy places, such as malls, cinemas, and famous scenic spots. If I want to have a holiday in some spots, I will choose a season with few visitors. I like peaceful life. I feel people in large city are too busy to have time to chat with others and they become more and more lonely. They often surf online or go to KTV when they have a holiday. I feel they are very pitiful.
