As I saw the news last week. A 60-year-old New Jersey woman gave birth to twins last Tuesday, May 22nd, becoming the oldest woman to give birth to twins in the United States, after undergoing in-vitro fertilization. How old is too old to have children? Should there be a limit? Please Share your thoughts!

It just seems to me that they are not thinking of the kids all that much when having children so late in life. Of course these women must know that having children at an older age is dangerous to the mom. What about the child? At best if that 60 old mom has forty or less years left of her life. I just think it is kind of selfish on the mothers part to have a child at such a late stage in life.

People easily reach 80, 90 and 100 years of age these days. This lady at age 60 is obviously in good health. She wanted children, she has got them, she can be happy. I do think mature people make good parents. I do not see anything wrong with it.

The normal range I guess for women to have children is until the age of 45. However, that woman who is 60 y.o is an exception to us like a ratio 1:1000.... some people just have different genes from others.

I think that anything over 45 should be the cut off because just think about it you'll want to be around to see your kids graduate and of course there is nothing saying you're going to absolutely see that no matter what, but at least there is a higher chance. Besides after the age of 45 it just seems that many more ailments arise in life. But that is just my thoughts on things! Nice post by the way.

i dont think so... there are no limits just until God will give u ur last child. in the biblical history sarah, abrahams wife was already a hundred years when she gave birth to isaac. and that was Go'd blessings so... we should be glad that in that age... women are able to produce another hope for tomorow... thats my opinion. enjoy mylot!

I definetly think that 60 is too old to have children. A woman's body 'stops' the whole reproducing process for a reason, nature says 'hey, you're done'. Besides being unnatural, it's not fair for their babies. They will be luck if their parents live to see them graduate HS. I think it was a very selfish thing they did.

The kids are the only real factor in this situation, at least in my opinion. Thanks for sharing

This woman I believe gave birth for her daughter. Anyhow any age is appropriate as long as the person can deal with it emotionally, physically, and financially. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Every person is different if this woman really wanted kids I guess God wanted her to have them as well. As long as she could still take care of them many grandparents today are raising their grandkids up and for many it gives them new life and is invigorating. I think for anybody as long as they have the means to care for a child, the love and security then I dont think there should be a limit. True for anybody if they want a child to love and care for properly then yes. My personal self says no way! lol, I am 22 with 2 little ones I couldnt imagine being 60, but my cut off age would be about 35 for myself.

I think healthy age for women to give birth is 20 to 35 . If she gives birth it this perios then she has high chances that her child will be safe abd healthy and live longer life . Which you can not say as she grows older ..
