I've decided to share a couple of paranormal experiences.

I was about 7 or 8 at the time that my step-grandpa passed away. My mom, my sister, myself, and a bunch of people that I didn't know were at my grandma's house. My sister and I were alone in the living room. Everyone else was in the kitchen with my grandma. I was sitting in Bodie's (my step-grandpa) favorite chair. The chair that was "his" and nobody was allowed to sit in it when he was alive. My sister was sitting on the couch across the room. There was a hat rack right beside the chair that I was sitting in. All of his hats were hanging there. All of a sudden, the black hat started spinning, and flew off of the hat rack.. It landed right in the middle of the floor. I jumped up and started screaming, my sister looked like she'd just seen a ghost, because she was so pale. My mom ran into the living room and asked us what was wrong. We told her, and of course, she thought we were making it up, that we'd tossed the hat in the middle of the floor. After she took a good look at us, seeing the fear on our faces, she finally believed us. I believe that Bodie was trying to tell me to get out of his chair. To this day, I've only been back to that house twice. When I was about 14, I was outside walking one night. I loved to walk, day or night. It helped me clear my head. My mom and sister had died three years before, and my dad had gotten remarried, then divorced, then he started dating someone that my mom didn't like. He had fallen asleep on the couch that night, and his girlfriend wasn't there. She was out with a friend or something. I walked by his bedroom window, and I saw a white thing - it looked like a woman in a long white gown floating by the window, inside the house. It looked like it was coming from his bathroom, going toward the kitchen. I was freaking out. I ran inside, and looked all around, but the apparition wasn't anywhere to be found. I woke my dad up and told him what I saw, he told me that I was insane and seeing things. I don't know what I saw that night, but I do know that I wasn't crazy when I saw it. A few years later, after I'd moved out, I went back to visit my dad. He finally believed my story. He told me why he believed it, too. He said that one night, he was sitting on the couch watching TV, and the light in my old bedroom came on. The woman that he was dating (a new one) was sitting on the couch beside of him. The lightswitch in my bedroom wasn't sensitive, and it never did came on by itself when I was living there. They were both so scared, and wouldn't go turn it off.. lol.. My dad finally went down the hall with a baseball bat, and turned it off. I'm glad that I wasn't there to see it, although I probably would've laughed after the initial fear subsided. I was 19, and I was living in a small apartment in Indiana. My fiance was at work. I babysat a girl during the night, because her mom and dad both worked third shift. One night, I was feeling particularly sad, thinking about my mom and sister, so I told her about what had happened to them. After I told her, we were quiet for a long time. I told her about some of the paranormal things that I had experienced, and we were kind of scared.. lol.. We went to the kitchen to get something to drink, and we heard creaking in the hallway. The floorboards hadn't ever creaked like that, and we were the only ones in the apartment. She looked at me, and she went pale. I looked at her and laughed.. I didn't feel a bad presence, instead, I felt peaceful. I told her that it was probably my mom or sister. ..Over the years, since my mom and sister died, I've felt them watching over me. After my mom and sister passed away, I had trouble sleeping in my bedroom, I had trouble sleeping in the dark, and when it was totally silent. So I had to sleep in the living room, with the lights on, and with the television on. I woke up in the middle of the night, one night. I had the strangest urge to look at the door. I did, and I saw my mom and sister standing there. I was scared for a moment, but they both smiled, then peace washed over me, and I went back to sleep. I don't know if I was dreaming that, or if I really saw them. I'll never know, but that's something that I'll always remember.

Wow... that's really amazing. I think maybe you are somewhat privileged that spirits show themselves to you, even though it's rather scary. I haven't had many paranormal experiences, even though I have been a believer for my whole life. Something really strange did happen to me not long ago, though, and at that time after wishing for a supernatural experience for so long, I didn't know what to do. I had been hearing strange sounds in the house for a while (about a month) but they were random creaks and bumps, things most people would blame on the wind or the house settling. Then finally, one night, I was sitting at the computer after my brother and parents had gone to bed and I heard the faint voice of a girl talking. At first, I thought it was coming from my computer somehow, but there was nothing open that could have made that sound. It wasn't any of the cats, or my brother, or the television in my parents' room. I still have no idea how I could have heard a young girl's voice in my house considering we don't have any close neighbors and I was the only one awake...

Ahh, wow. I probably would have been flipping out. I've never heard voices. I've just seen things, and felt presences. It hasn't happened for a long, long time, though. Don't get me wrong, I still feel my mom and sister from time to time, but the weird things have stopped happening. Thank you for sharing your story. Take care, and God bless you.
