Is improving your English one of the reasons that you post here on mylot?

It's a question rather to members from non-English countries. I know that most of the people posting here on mylot do it because they like it and they are paid for it. These reasons are obvious. But is improving your English skills also one of major reasons you have joned mylot and you are posting here? It's important reason for me to stay here, because I don't have many opportunities to speak, read or write English. And what about you? Or maybe you know more interesting benefits of beeing a member of mylot?

Of course, this is one of my benefits. Theese discussions are a good practice. I also release some daily stress. When i feel lonely or anything else, i can allways come here and talk to somebody, to share my feelings and taughts and to meet a benevolent reactions. This is also important for me.

yes, this is great way to practise English. I remember, that it was hard for me at the beginning to write responses or start discussions just because my English is not perfect. Now it's much easier:) Mylot as a place to release daily stress, well, it's a good thought:)

Well, me living in Ireland, I speak fine English. I came to mylot because I wanted to comunicate more with Americans. I wanted to learn more about them after I visited Washington DC. If its English I need to learn, would be my accent. I had to repete my order at a resturaunt in Washington twise. I was about to pretend I was a redneck.

I have been learning English at the school for many years, and it was British English. I was surpriesed that American English can be so different, especially when you hear it.

Definitely. Through mylot, I have learnt many vocab and proper way of expression. I am still learning though, but my English proficiency is getting better so far. It's true that, for those originating from non-English speaking countries, it's not easy to express themselves even though they have excellent ideas in some discussion. By reading posting from those are good in English, I slowly get used to the right way of describing things and thoughts. Of course, the most disticntive part of mylot is that, you will get paid for what you post! LoL.
