oy, yes, i can still remember dancing these ones, too. for us then, modern dances were that much activity already. i can also remember dancing that one wherein we will have to go under a stick. the one who is able to go throught it with the stick held at its lowest comes out the winner. i don't know anymore what was it called.

We have our latest dance craze here called poco-poco. It originated from one of the Indonesian island. It is a group dance and can be a form of exercise. We name it dancerobic.

Oh man bad (hilarious) memories! I was never a big dancer but ended up doing a lot of stupid ones in PE. We learned the Electric Slide which is kinda cool, but there was also stuff like the Achy Breaky, The Macarena, The Boot Scoot (I THINK) and they actually made us square dance! Ugh.. =P

You tell them to stop it. We were cool back then. We did the freak, the tilt, the bump, the running man, breaking dancing, and a bunch of other dances. Remember the song Atomic Dog, I could not stay in my seat when this song came on. Two of my nieces were over for New Years day and they showed me the video Walk It Out, by Unk. I still watch it because I like it. They couldn't really do the dance and I wont even try. Every generation has dances and songs that they think are cool, hip, tight, whatever, and they always laugh at the generations before them.

When I was ten, the bump was the biggest thing, and my sister had a dance to do it, and it didn't work out because she was a bit tall. I also remember dances like the hustle, robot, the slop(never seen it but heard). Of course, the electric slide and booty scoot(more recent).

During my elementary grades even up to early high school, I was a native dancer. I used to dance many of our folk dances . To name a few, I used to be a dancer of "Pandango Sa Ilaw",where we have lighted candles on our head, both palms of our hands while dancing to its tune. The translation in English of the dance's title is Dancing In The Light. I also used to dance the "Tinikling", where two bamboo poles are clapped together while you timed your dancing on the inside and outside of the bamboo poles being clapped together, otherwise your dancing feet might get hurt. I also used to dance "Itik=Itik" whose translation in English is small ducks. This dance is done mostly by both of your arms in akimbo and flapping them like wings. However,In my mid-high school years when I became a star basketball player in our school and has learned other contact sports like karate and wrestling,I soon find no time for folk dancing, and have to drop it altogether.

we used to do the snake, the electric slide, and the cabbage patch etc.. I don't even attempt most of the dances they do today. I think I pushed out some of my rhythm when I pushed out my kids. I can't keep up anymore.
