Thats a lot of information about pizza. I'm not surprised that everyone hates anchovies! What a weird thing to want to put on a pizza... Salty and ick. So pizza was originally a peasants dish? Interesting.. I would have thought due to the way it is made (the complexity of it, that is) that it would have been an upper-class meal. x

Well, that's for all the americans. Pizza can be regarded maybe as a sign of achievement for the makers and eaters to satisfy their appetite.

We tend to eat a lot of pizza in Canada as well but I don't know the statistics as well as you do lol . We like to make pizza at home and don't ever order out becaue my husband makes really good pizza and we don't like the crusts thick at all and he can make the thinnest crust ever on a slice of pizza . Even family and friends that like a thick crust have stated that he should go into buisness because somehow it gives it a different flavor and they have all said it was the best pizza they have ever eaten . Once in awhile when my children have friends over I will buy the ones in the store that are on sale just for something quick to throw in the oven for them to heat up and have while talking or watching a movie but for the most part we make all our own .

you are such a pizza lover to have gone to so much lengths to know this much about pizza. i am, too. however, it seems americans cannot live by without pizza. this is how i understand it from your discussion. if the americans consume that much pizza each day, then that is enough explanation. the pizza i enjoy most are the ones we do at home. we buy these ready made doughs or pizza bread and then we do the toppings. whatever we fancy for the moments goes for the toppings. yes, pizzas are yummy delicious and very fattening. hehehe.
