Al Gore and John Edwards miss the point entirely!

Al Gore, John Edwards and their apologists like to throw the term "Carbon Neutral" around when people (rightfully) accuse them of hypocrisy for the fact they don't practive what they preach. While "Carbon Offsets" is their cause celeb, they have totally forgotten the term, "conservation". They tell us that we shouldn't be driving SUVs, because they are inefficient energy hogs and unnecessary. However, they live in SUV sized homes and hog a lot more energy than any SUV known to mankind. Carbon Offsets and Carbon Footprints are just excuses for rich people to use so they can point their stinky little fingers at the rest of us, while claiming to care. Al Gore and John Edwards are NOT environmentalists. When they use up so much power to keep rooms they rarely use warm or cool, they are the charicature of the environmentalist hypocrite.

Everyone has heard of carbon credits. How about carbon debits? One of my friends posted this url at one of my threads. It's a hoot. While it does not mention Gore and Edwards, it does make fun of their ilk. http://www.carboncreditkillers.com/

I understand the concept of the web site, and even see that it is being used for an environmental cause with the antelope(?), but I don't see publicizing it as a carbon debit as if there wasn't a purpose there is no need to do something like that to counter people like Gore and Edwards. We have to make them responsible for the fact that they need the carbon credits, not take the credits away. A carbon credit does not take away the carbon debit they already are using. It's like the local car dealer that will plant a tree for every car sold, makes you feel all warm and fuzzy.

Awesome! I'm taking the $5,000 I was going to donate to Al Gore's "Virgin Earth Challenge" and buying the premium package instead! ;~D

Hypocrites that is what they are blatant hypocrisy. Both of them say that we should lessen the carbon impact on the earth, but both of them refuse to do the measures that they preach. They rail against SUV's and other gas guzzeling vehicles, but both of them drive limo's that get horrible gas milage. Both of them fly around in airplanes. Last time I checked airplanes are very wasteful with fuel. If they really want to practice what they preach they should ride around in trains preferably electric. They should putt-putt around in an electric car. Their houses should be small, and have solar panels on them. Come on people if you two want us to lessen the carbon impact on the world, why don't you show us the way? Isn't that true leadership?

Hypocrites is right! And so are the people who give them money or use Gore's lie of a movie to back anything to do with saving the planet! Al Gore has been proven to be a fraud, there is NO excuse for anyone to continue supporting his scam!

I agree it is not about conserving resources it is about controling the energy. How long is it going to be before we have to limit our energy use to reduce our carbon footprint. I can see it now youwill get 5 gallons of Gas per week unless you buy some carbon credits from Al Gore's Company then you can pollute all you want. Al Gore will have this country covered in and not have enough room to grow the corn to make ethonal. It seem to me that 100 to 150 years ago they had similar scams going on with people who claimed they could make it rain. They would come into a community and get people to pay for them to make rain or to seed the clouds. Usually they received a new set of clothing made up of mostly feathers and undergarments of Tar. How is that different than what Al Gore is selling. I will make the planet cooler if you will give me some money and you trust me.

Gore has been doing this eco-trip for a very long time, and he has no excuse for what was discovered about his house. Like so many others, he talks the talk, but doesn't walk it. They are elitists who tell us to live one way while they live another, and they really do not care about the environment or the other issues that they are promoting. They only do this to try and prove that they care about these issues, when they really don't. It is merely a matter of how they are perceived to be, and not how they actually are.

I love it that Al Gore's house is much more wasteful than George Bush's house... and Bush wasn't even trying! ;~D I also had to laugh at Gore, when questioned about his house he just told the press what he's "planning" to do. Hmmmm, Prs Bush already did all that, and without any presuure from the press. Prs. George W. Bush is more eco friendly than Al Gore!!! :~D
