Some people think its silly, but some people get clothes for their dog. Do you do it? and why? What kind of clothes have you bought for your dog? I have gotten my dog a sweater for when its cold outside. I have also gotten her a sports team jersey for the local baseball team because my boyfriend and I are big fans of that team.

First, i have to ask you what kind of dog do you have? Second, yes, our dog has clothing. LOL However, they came with her. My mother in law's best friend moved several states away and gave the dog to my mother in law, Casi. Now the dog in question is Daisy. Daisy is a long hair chihuahua, who weighs about 6 pounds. (she thinks she's a doberman) Well, Casi has a good sized farm she takes care of, and also, three bassett hounds. So poor daisy was getting lost in the shuffle, and required more attention than she was getting on the farm. Sooooo. We took her. LOL she's got a bathrobe, two jackets, and a hoody. This dog is so funny, after she has a bath? she runs and gets the bathrobe and brings it back to us. Have we considered buying other clothes for her? *sighs* yep. especially around halloween and christmas. LOL

I have a Jack Russell Terrier/Basenji mix. She looks jack russell but has the basenji ears.

I don't think i've ever seen a Basenji. I would love to see a picture of her if you've got one!

I dont but clothes for me pup, but one day , I found me bro's old shorts when he younger, n so put it on me pup. As u would expect me,it was loose n the waist , so I fixed it up with a hair band,,lol..Me pup was so shy, that he would not budge from where he was put the shorts on. Then I tried to make him Walk The Ramp by enticing him to go for his favourite treat,,,, cooked chicken meat,,.He still would not budge, but had a surprise look on his face watching us look at him n have a hearty laugh, n make those funny laughing noises, while watching him,,,lol

All my dog "clothing" has practicality. Jodie is a show dog, so he has dog boots to keep his feet clean on the day of the show. He has a snood, which is a cloth device like a bonnet to keep his ears out of his food so they stay clean. I would never put like. . dress up clothes on my dogs because it serves no purpose really.

Unfortunately, my dogs are too big to buy clothes for and even if I could find some clothes for them to wear they wouldn't wear them. I've tried them with little hats but they end up tearing them off their heads as soon as I put it on them.

I never thought I'd be one of the dog owners who dresses their dog, but Pico loves clothes. It started when I made her a shark sweater I'd seen in a book as a halloween costume and for when she is wet (she gets cold when she's wet even in summer.) She loves it and if we take it off before she does, she is very grumpy for the rest of the day. I've gotten her a couple of other sweaters on sale so I can wash it. I also have some light colored t-shirts that she wears when it is hot because she is black and it keeps her cooler. These are just small v-neck human t-shirts that I slash the lower front of so they fit well around her withers. Since she adores clothes and it makes my boyfriend cringe, I occasionally buy her dog clothes when the are down to a dollar or two on clearence somewhere - but I won't go out of the house with her in any of them.
