Let me first start off by saying congratulations to all of you who are participating, you've made the first step by coming forward and saying you want to lose weight! This is how the competition will work for those who don't already know! Every day I will post a discussion titled similar to this one. I will list the date and anyone can feel free to post their thoughts, feelings, questions, accomplishments or in some cases their failures. I want everyone to be supportive, no discouraging words or lack of respective for your fellow competitors. Again, there are no prizes awarded, this is strictly for motivation and the idea of knowing other people are out there to help you! I've decided to post the results on a week basis so I ask that everyone let me know how much weight they lost each Friday and I will post the results on Saturday. Don't get discouraged if you don't always lose weight, it happens! The competition will go from June 1st - Sept. 1st. Let's meet our contestants. Please tell us a few things about yourself and what your goals are for this competition. You do not need to reveal your weight if you do not want to. You can list some of your strengths and weaknesses when it comes to weight loss. Feel free to say as many things or little things as you'd like. I will start off by saying my goal for this competition is to lose twenty-five pounds. I will be doing Weight Watchers and working out at least 5 times a week. I am only 22 years old so I feel as if this goal is in my reach. I currently work full time and freelance write in my spare time, so finding time to workout will definitely be a challenge. I plan on giving myself two hours after I get off work to go walking/running, bikeriding, or any other activity outside. I have tried Weight Watchers many times and although I lose weight, I just find it difficult to stick with it. I definitely can't control myself when it comes to mexican food, french fries or cheese! I plan to still eat these items but in moderation. Now I open the competition to who ever else wants to join!!! Good luck!!!

Hello racheld... I also started Weight Watchers but last week I had a little setback I guess because I only lost 0.06oz LOL so thats has really frustrated me this week, I could of sworn I lost more but my friend told me "look at it this way atleast you didnt gain weight" which is true. Im 24 years old..I have a 4yr old daughter and Im a stay at home mom. I just feel like I let myself go, I never get dressed up because I dont like how anything looks on me..you always see me wearing jeans and t-shirts because thats what I feel comfortable in and it hides the fat LOL I just started walking at night wit one of my good friends we walk around the park twice (its a huge park) Im not really into workouts but I know if I want to tone things up I have to do that..so im ready. My weakness is Pepsi..im addicted to it, I go threw bottles and bottles of it but now I started drinkin Diet pepsi and more water. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE

Thanks Racheld for starting this. I really need a good kick in the rear to get started again, hopefully this is it for me. I am 36 years old but there is no way I am posting my weight lol. I am a stay at home mommny, I have 6 children but only 4 are still in the home, my oldest will be 19 this year and my youngest just turned 2. I will be doing Weight Watchers again, last year I lost a lot of weight doing the program so I am hoping for the same results. I do not attentd meeting because I can't afford to, actually I have never attended a meeting. A neighbor gave me her points booklet to get me started. My plan is to stick to my points and to exercise on my Gazelle at least 3 times a week. Now I guess I had better get my garage ready so I can set it up again. Wonder if I get extra points for cleaning out the garage lol. My downfall is chocolate, especially around that time of the month, oh the joys of being a woman, NOT! I am going today to buy Crystal Light, I like to add that to my water so I get more water. The only thing I don't look forward to is all the trips to the bathroom until my body gets use to all the extra water. My goal for this weeks weight loss is 2 pounds. I wish everyone the best of luck! I know we can do it!

I use to have the Gazelle and gave it to my sister LOL I have found that no matter what I buy to use here at home I never use it! I have the ab roller also and never use it so I took it to the women's gym that I go too and now myself and everyone else there is useing it! Go figure LOL I am also liking the ball. Have you tried the ball yet? Good luck this week!!

I am not a part of any weight loss program, and have a lot of difficulty with most traditional excercises because of injuries to my back, neck, shoulder, and knee. I am significantly overweight, and although I would love to lose a lot more, will be setting my goal for 30 pounds. I have always had a problem losing weight even when I don't eat much because of some of the medications I am on. My thyroid medication is helping some, but some of the other medications I am taking cause weight gain, so it has been a struggle for me.

My cousin has a similar problem. She is a cancer survivor and the medication for her thyroid causes her to gain weight. Just remember to take baby steps and don't get discouraged if you don't lose weight every week! Be patient!! Good luck!!

I missed posting on Friday on this post, so I'll introduce myself now! I'm 29 years old and a new mommy, I'm also a SAHM and I WILL loose a total of 75lbs, not during this challenge, but eventually. I always struggled with my weight, but i really had to 'diet' after I got married, 8 years ago. I'm not doing WW, since when I did I gained weight instead of loosing, so i'm sticking to what worked for me; the Atkins approach. Last time I followed it I lost 50lbs in 6months and then I stopped because I got pregnant with our little boy. I go to jazzercise at least 3 times a week, but for the next 6 weeks i'll be adding 2 strength training a week to my regular routine. Hopefully this will get my muscle burning more fat and I'll get to whee I want to be. One last thing, I'll be following inches lost also, not just weight.

Welcome! That's a great idea about the inches. I think I'm going to do that too. Although I already can tell a difference becuase like I had mentioned the other day, I wasn't able to zip up this dress before but now I can!! :) I just signed up for a sculpting class that I take once a week because that's all I have time for. Good luck!!
