Total Digital Photography (Book)

I just put an order in for "Total Digital Photography" by Chris George. As a learning photographer, I wanna get as much information as I can on digital photography. I purchased the book, because it was a cheaper option to start with, as I was using a gift card I got from another website. Anyways, I was curious if anyone else on here has read it. I saw nothing but good reviews for it, but would like to get more thoughts on it. Do you think it's a good book for beginners to read?
