The name I am using here on myLot I have been using for years as a Nickname on just about everything that I do. It's a name I created out of my first and middle names. (I didn't think my mother was very creative when she named me lol.) I was reading the Wizard's First Rule i believe it was by Robert Jordan (I know it was one of the books in that series.) And I came across a character that had the name Erilyn. (And here I thought I was being clever lol.) Has anything like that ever happened to you? How did you feel about it?

Funny you should ask....just last night in the book I am reading there was a character that was introduced. She had both my first and last name!

That's really cool. I haven't seen my first name in a book, just my screen name lol. I thought it was kinda odd, just becasue I created that name myself lol. I had thought about changing my name to my SN legally, but then realized all the stuff I had to go through and decided against it lol.

It's strnage really because my first name (Laura) is a very common name, yet i hardly ever see a book with my name in!!! Anyway when i was a kid i got given this special book as a present. That had my full name, address and my friends in etc!! It was very cool, used to think it was specially written for me. I suppose in a way it was, but it would be just like the equilavent of a mail merge letter today!! Still have it though, it's a great story about my adventures on a weather cloud!!!

I used to want one of those books. I had gotten one for my oldest daughter, but she colored all in it and tore pages out. I didn't get one for my other 2 kids becasue of that. She has never been a big reader though. She never actually read the book, and didn't want me to read it to her either.

In Chicken Soup for the Writer's Soul, there is an exerpt in there written by a writer who has the same name as me. I don't know whether it's a man or a woman because they used the name "Pat" whereas I plan on using the name "Patricia" as I do with everything now. I have seen my own name in print when I had a short story published in a local magazine recently. I saw my name three times in the issue. :)

This is true also! I used to write for the school newpaper and sometimes the articles would be published in the local paper if they were good enough. I would have to agree with you on the feeling when you see your name in print!
