What Is Your High School Commencement Ceremony Like?

Wisconsin is the 11th State in which I've lived. Here in Sheboygan, they have the coolest graduation ceremonies I've ever seen. Commencement ceremonies are normally very formal, stuffy events that stop short of requiring black tie and tails. A seemingly endless string of speakers get up to say the same thing educators have said to graduates since time began. Ok, here in Sheboygan, we still have the seemingly endless stream, but that's where the stuffiness ends. Here they are held in a park. People show up in everything from shorts and "wife beaters" to suits and ties. There are frisbies, coolers and music playing. The two high schools in this city (with such imaginative names as "North" and "South" High.) are combined for the ceremony. The two schools are rivals until this day, they also have joint high school reunions. Every few years, some genius comes up with a campaign to have a more "dignified" ceremony at each school. BAH! Why ruin a great and unique thing!
