Who's guilty of this?

In Jeremiah 16:19 O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say. Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit. 20 Shall a man make gods unto himself, and they are no gods? 21 Therefore, behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know mine hand and my might: and they shall know that my name is YHVH. I wonder how many of these Christians will say that's for that group down the street?

I believe that we must see a distinction between Israel and the Church. This verse is prophesy for the end times and the Kingdom. At that point the Gentiles will confess that their unbelief. Every knee shall bow & confess the Jesus Christ is Lord to the Glory of God the Father. There is also present day application that can be made to us today. We are all guilty of errecting "gods" or "idols" in our hearts. And in reality they are no gods as they stand up against the true God.

First where can you show me in the scriptures that there must be a distinction between Israel and the body? which is in the Messiah which is out of Judah. I agree it's for the end times but there will be no afflictions in the Kingdom so it isn't there yet. Every knee shall bow covers all Humanity, here we have gentiles that had thought through traditions of there fathers, which are those that were before us, had a grasp as who god was, they were worshipers, not just sinners, they come to realize all they had been taught and held on to come to a screeching halt through a great calamity. By the might of YHVH Theres no mention of Jesus and it is bringing all to know who he really is and he does have a name which we can't find neither in his book nor in the mouths of those that say they know him. This is the subject (his name) and it's a shame that through a great calamity he has to exalt it, billions claim his love but don't even care to search out his name. Thanks for your response come back with correction or add to it I appreciate it Shalom

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you- Yes, there is always a distinction between Israel and the Church. 73 times in the NT Israel is mentioned and it is never the church is it always ethnic Israel. Israel is addressed as a nation in contrast to the gentiles after the church was established in Acts 2. Consider the following verses Acts 3;12; 4:8,10; 5:21,31,35; 21:28. Also Paul prayed for Israel in Rom.10:1 this is clearly a reference to the nation of Israel outside of the church. In fact in 1Cor.10:32 "Give none offense, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God"If there was no distinction between Israel & The Jewish people and the church this verse would make no sense. What is even more helpful in seeing this is in Rom.9:3-4 Paul calls Israel his "kinsmen according to the flesh" and he ascribes to them all the promises and covenants that are theirs. The fact that these words were penned by Paul after the churched was birthed is proopf that the church does not rob Israel of her future promises, thus Israel and the church can not be the same. If the term Israel still refers to the physical descendents of Abraham (Through Jacob) after the church was formed it indicates to us that Israel is not equal to the church. Along with this I must say also that ythe church is made up of both Jew & Gentile today. They are brought together in one body, but they are still distinct - note the many times Paul describes the body by saying Jew and Gentile. The Jewish remnant of the day in found in the church. As far as Jer.16:19 is concerned it is at the time of the restoration of Israel right prior to the establishment of the Kingdom and this is a confession that you will hear among those who have come to repentance and faith. Not all Gentiles for many will not believe. The Name of Jehovah or Yahweh is the same as Jesus. His name is Yeshua- Jehovah is Salvation. To understand prophesy one must go forward and read the NT to get the full picture. I hope this explains a little more of what I was meaning & I hope I answered your question. Shalom

I believe when Paul was praying for Israel he was hoping all Israel would be saved, but up until Paul only Cornelious and his house hold had been of the gentiles. But tens of thousand of Jews were already in the body now how we going to get them out?
