Is it true that caffiene can pass to the baby through breast milk?

A friend told me this about a week ago, and it's not something that I had heard before. Seems everyone I ask lately, already knew this little fact. My OB/GYN told me not to drink coffee while I was pregnant, but I didn't know it applied after the baby was born.

It is true that many of the things you eat can passon, but they do not always cause problems. Some babies have no problem with the caffiene, some do. Just use in moderation.

I think that it depends, as usual, on how much coffee you drink! If you drink 10 cupa a day, maybe it's not so crazy to think that some of that caffeine would pass onto the milk... ask a doctor! =)
