I live here in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines. Our City is also known as "The City of Golden Friendship". It has been known with that tag since most of the visitors of our city find us, the people within Cagayan de Oro City, as friendly. Visitors also love it here because Cagayan de Oro is one of the most peaceful place in the Island of Mindanao is the south of our country Philippines.

The city of Bangalore is known as Garden City and also Pensioners paradise. That was 30 years ago. Today it is known as Silicon City of India because all major I.T. Industries are located in Bangalore. Gardens are still there and new gardens are made now and then.

That way every new locality, there are sprawling gardens. Regarding butterflies, there is a separate park for butterflies where one can see hundreds of varieties. This park which consists of nector bearing flowering and fruit plants is exclusively for butterflies.

Hi thanks for sharing those historical names of your city. LOL. I love the garden city, I think more than a paradise. Where I am sure I can find a beautiful butterfly hunting on the flowers. I do hope the flowers in those gardens will still bloom even if it is know a Silicon City. God bless!

I think I would love to see those butterflies. Can I see them my self? Did you mean I can't visit them because it is exclusive for butterflies? Whenever I see a butterfly in the garden or specially early morning where the sun is shining brightly, I always realize God's love for me. Knowing that butterflies fly, I know God too is with me to take my flight of the day. Of course not to fly too but to be able to survive a beautiful day of my life.

My city is known as Kuala Lumpur. The name Lumpur means mud. But as time passes by it became one of the most renowned city in the world. It is the place of the twin tower, which is one of the tallest building in the world. We have the Eye of Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur, the Kuala Lumpur Tower and KLCC Aquaria. So many fascinating things are happening now here.

Ayala owns Makati in history, I learned that they later subdivided sold some parts for a subdivision. They were the great business minded who made the effort to make that place the business capital! I just hope they can solve the transportation problem with respest to traffic jams. Thanks for giving us more and more knowledge! You are a great mylotter. Have a great and traffic jam free day my friend.

i forgot to tell why its called the financial and business capital.. you can find in ayala the stock exchange, main offices of local and international banks and companies.. traffic in some parts of makati are the worst than the traffic in ayala.. at least in ayala drivers follow the unloading/loading zones..

aw that's too bad, you should visit ZC again. :) it's quite ironic though since there aren't any much flowers there. The orchids there are big and colorful though, but there aren't so many.

Davao City in the southern part of the Philippines is known to many as the 'Land of Promise.' It's also called 'Durian' city and the 'Food Basket of Mindanao.' It is the largest city in the world, in terms of land area. Davao City is the 'home of the monkey-eating eagle', home of 'queen of Philippine orchids' known as waling-waling or Vanda sanderiana, rare and most exotic orchid.

I used to live in Quezon City but I now live here in Baguio city. Baguio is the "Summer Capital of the Philippines". Though this city may be packed by tourists during vacations, everybody would still have their fair share of cool air. (wow that rhymes!) :) Hehehe. Strawberries, peanut brittles, ube jam, crinkles and other baked goodies are the main products of this city. :)

I came from the "City of Love" Iloilo City Philippines. Ilongos are soft spoken people. You can't notice an angry Ilongo by their words alone. Even in our most anger stage you can still hear our voice like "saying i love you".

Wow really? I love that city then. Hehehe. City of love is great. I have an ilongo friend before but she's from cotabato. She's so soft spoken, I guess that's why your city is called the "city of love" because you talk most of the time as soft as the lover. I think it is so sweet to hear ilongos because they are soft spoken and tend not to get mad. Thanks for responding my friend. God bless!

One of my sisters got the cahnce to visit your place, she said it's really a beautiful place. I live in the Northern part of the Philippines, known as the "City of Pines" and the "Summer Capital City of the Phil." It was given the name "City of Pines" due to the vast number of pine trees in the city and it'surroundings. Situated in the high mountains in the Cordilleras, it attracts visitors and tourists esp during summer due to its cool climate.

Hi. I like your city, CDO...have gone there a couple of times since the business of my husband is there; my mother-in-law has a house there at Xavier Estates. My city is Dumaguete, known as the "City of Gentle People". Original DumagueteƱos are really gentle...it matches with the idyllic lifestyle of the place and its people. However today, it is fast becoming known as a "University Town" because of the many colleges and good universities in this city where life is relatively slow, where culture and arts are given priority, where the boulevard is its pride, with little or no nightlife at all. You see, majority of its temporary populace is composed of students coming from out of town and other countries. It is the best place to raise a family or build a retirement home.

I like you place too my friend. A "university town" away from nightlife. I think I dreamed to land in your place before my college years. But I wasn't from a well-to-do family to gain a college degree from those expensive schools you have there. Maybe I can visit your place some other time. And see the dream school of mine. LOL. Thanks for sharing your experience in our city. God bless!

Iligan City is known before as "The Industrialized City of the South" but since industries are not working here anymore very well. It was changed to City of Waterfalls. Famous one is the Maria Cristina. Sad to say, even if we're too abundant with water. Our own local barangay still having problems with the supply of water. We do merely rely on schedules.
