When you ride ships or vessels, do you consider how safe it is?

When I ride ships going to another city here in the Philipines, like going to Bohol, Cebu or Manila, I just can't help but glance on the vessel or ship schedule in the date I choose. I would find out which vessel will sail in each vessel company. Then later I would consider which one is safer before buying a ticket. In some cases also, I don't consider the safety when am in a hurry. Or sometimes, I don't bother to check when I do not have time to do so. Also I don't consider its safety when I know the weather is good. Here on our country some vessels are too old. Its not very safe to travel with the ships. Sometimes they get trouble in the middle of the sea. Its so scary experience if it happens during windy or typhoon seasons.

I travel a lot nowadays. I go to Ormoc or go to Palompon, Leyte. I work in Isabel, Leyte and my family is living in Cebu, so twice a month I go home to see my wife and my child. I dont even know how to swim yet, I ride supercat or weesam fast ferry, or cebu ferries boat, or lite shipping lines, or roble shipping line, or rolly shipping line. among these the fastest are supercat and weesam, which can travel to Ormoc for 2 hours and 30 minutes only. however they come with a price. roble shipping line is the biggest boat for me and it also cost less, but i would take 4 hours to go to Ormoc. Once I am in Ormoc I would ride the bus to travel to Isabel. the bus ride would take an hour to go to Isabel. I also go to Palompon, riding the rolly shipping line, this also would cost less but the boat is not that big and not that fast, it would take 5-6 hours before going to Cebu. safety is one concern when riding with boats, but as this are the only vessels going to these destinations I have no choice of the matter. Everytime I ride the boat I pray first for travelling safety. but if indeed God would take me from this world I would meet Him with gladness in my heart.

There are alot of boats in our country my friend. Thank you for mentioning all of them that you encounter. I agree that prayer is important in our hearts and God will always be our guide keeping us safe always. In our country we have no choice but ride the boats to go to another island. I am happy to know that your heart is always ready for God. God bless!

I don't often travel by ship. I live in the middle of the US. And I rarely travel by plane anymore, but I know there are certain safety levels that airlines have to abide by. Statistically, it is safer to fly in the US than it is to drive your own car n the highway. and you are responsible for the care and maintenance of your own vehicle, so it isn't vehicle maintenance that makes travel unsafe in the US... it's other people operating vehicles - and that includes boats, cars, personal aircraft, etc.

You are absolutely right my friend. These vessels or boats or ships are operated by individuals who oath to know the proper maintenance for safety. They are the ones who can make us travel safely no matter where we go. My friend you have a brilliant idea, thank you so much for sharing that. God bless!
