hi, i would like to inform you that.. you don't actually need to buy another computer.. all you have to do is to reformat your hard drive so you can get a fresh operating system again.. to reformat.. what you need is the CD installer of the operating system. example: Windows 98 or Windows XP Professional. if you have the CD installer then i can tell you the step by step process to do it.. if you don't have the CD Installer.. i guess it would be a lot cheaper if you buy an Installer instead of a brand new or even a second hand computer..

Check FreeCycle first, there are always people giving away computers and computer parts for free. Then you can check places like ebay to see if there are any good deals. Local computer places will probably have the best price but shop around and look for something that fits your specific needs.

are you been seriously about it? I think you don't need to buy a new computer, because a virus destroyed your operating system that doesn't mean that your computer is lost, you will need to reinstall the whole operating system and program, if you don't have the Cd's and you don't want to buy them, you can download a free operating system, any distribution of Linux is good, check on internet or buy it in a computer store, it can't cost more that $5 dollars, if you have damage in your hard disk you can fix it, I think you need to get a good technician, if you want to get a new one and don't care about fix your computer, I think you need to check eBay, there is a low cost laptops and desktop computers, take care there and it is better you buy in your same city because you would lost your money, I don't know if you question is because you have few knowledge about computers but I think you computer is not lost for the virus.

For typical computers, a virus infection is only a software problem. Unless of course, the virus is so smart enough to control your hardware and sets it to overheat or other things that it may do to damage your computer physically. But modern motherboards have fail-safe systems for that. Well, unless you are upgrading, you do not need a new computer. All you need is someone who knows how to partition, format, and install on Operating System on your computer.
