All about pride and prejudice..

I highly recommend that you read the book kharen. It will explain a lot of things that have been missed in the movie. In the book you will clearly see that both Elizabeth and Darcy were people who had such tremendous pride. It was their first and major stumbling block to a good relationship. As for prejudice, their social climate at that time held great prejudice against low status individuals like Elizabeth and her family. No lowly born woman could ever aspire to marry someone rich. Elizabeth therefore was not regarded well by Darcy's family and friends.
